Beast Warrior: Depth Charge
Faction: Maximal Gender: Male Variant: Transmetal Role in Beast Wars: Underwater warrior Animal: Manta Ray Transformations: 3 modes: beast, flight and robot.
Backstory: Depth Charge was a chief of security on a colony called Omicron. On that colony, Protoform X (Rampage) was created as an experiment to replicate Starscream's indestructible spark. Protoform X got loose and levelled the entire colony, except for Depth Charge. Four 4 stellar cycles Depth Charge hunted him down. Finally he caught him and turned him over the the high Council, asking for them to find a way to destroy X's spark. Instead they turned him over to Optimus Primal, to dump someplace far and barren during their space exploration mission. Depth Charge was upset with the decision and took it into his own hands to find and destroy X for good. He searched the galaxy in his starhopper, when he accidentally got sucked into a portal and ended up crashing on prehistoric Earth. Role in the Beast Wars: After Depth Charge's ship crashed in the sea, he took the beast form of a manta ray and saved Cheetor from drowning. The cat had been hovering over the giant splash DC's ship has made and was shot down by Rampage, (who had sensed Depth Charge's coming). Once he dropped off the water-damaged catbot on an island, he went flying off in pursuit of Rampage. He found him, they tussled and he had just about won and had Rampage lying upside down in tank mode Quickstrike appeared and shot him down Optimus arrived and took him back to base. When Depth Charge emerged from the CR chamber he was rude, nasty and disgusted at how much Optimus had messed up. Ignoring Optimus's advice to stop looking for revenge and help them, he set out to find Rampage and destroy him once and for all. He went hunting for Rampage most of the time and the two of them had their fair share of fights. Eventually Depth Charge joined up with the Maximals (somewhat loosely), but he was still a rebel and just as determined to accomplish his goal as he'd been from his arrival. He finally got what he'd been waiting for at the bottom of the sea right next to the Nemesis warship. His task was originally to stop Megatron from getting it airborne again, but Rampage distracted him. After an intense battle, Depth Charge pinned Rampage with a blade of raw energon over his spark and tried to thrust it in. Rampage at first held him off, then let go of the blade by choice. Both knew that if Depth Charge put the blade in it would cause an explosion that would kill them both. Depth Charge went ahead anyway, and so the two were destroyed together.
