Rampage's beast mode...
...Why would it be a king crab? I mean, he crashed in the middle of a misty jungle...surely crabs don't live in jungles? What do you think?

Yeah, when you think about it , it doesn't make much sense. I did a quick serach on King Crab and none of the locations listed where they can be found are jungles. There's mostly found on wither islands or straits. So it wouldn't make sense for a crab to be out in the jungle like that escpecially if they resdice around bodies of water.
But like RC said, it is Prehistoric Earth so anyhing could be possible. Heck, like we have no idea where RT gets all the garbage he eats or both bases seem to have unlimited replacement parts for everything except for stuff that could get thier ships flying again.

Yes, well...Prehistoric, or not. It still irks me to this day. Same goes for Silverbolt. I know he's a Fuzor, so his scanners got messed up...but come on, look where -he- lands! It's in an apocyalpitc (sp?) wasteland, with dead trees and a stormy sky, yet somehow he comes out as a Wolf and a Eagle/hawk.
And I think the whole 'Prehistoric Earth' thing is so vague. I mean, there's modern looking Rhino's and cheetahs and the like, yet we still see the proto-Humans who have yet to evolve.

Yeah, when you think about it, a lot of things in Beast Wars don't make much sense, like when Megatron's looking at a map of the planet it looks like present day Earth, and the other things I mentioned in my other post. I don't know maybe they hoping no one would notice or question it. Like with RPGs, there are time you have to wonder why random wolves that attack you would be carrying money or healing items on them.
But how Sliverbolt form came to be is a good question. There is always a chance that an eagle might have been flying over the area at the time, but I don't know about the wolf thought. Well considering that one can also obtain a beast mode from the bones of animals as well, so maybe there a dead wolf in the area or something.

Maybe you're right about the dead wolf...but we've really only seen the scanner s being used on fossils of long-dead creatures (T-rex, raptor, pterodactlyl.) As for the eagle, I'm not sure any organic creature would be safe to go out in the sky! If you watch the very furst scene of the Coming of the Fuzors pt.1, the sky is blackened and clouded and there's frequent strikes of lightning...not exactly perfect flying conditions for an eagle.
To be really honest, you're right, Sky. You've gotta remember this show was primarily for young kids who wouldn't notice or care about these little nuances and just want to see Waspinator get slagged...again. Nothing wrong with that, ofc.

Acctually, if you really wanna nitpick the details, cheetahs weren't around 4 million years ago (according to an exhibit at the Royal Tyrell museum in Drumheller, AB, or so it said last time I was there anyways. I'm pretty sure it was the cheetahs I came out giggling about because of that detail... ). Biiiig plot hole right there.

I wondered too about Protoform X's craft landing in a swamp area and becoming a king crab. The thought about cheetahs not being around until a certain time period makes me think as well. Now the Maximals and Predacons arrived after the Autobots and Decepticons were on earth and in emergency statis. The story says they were "asleep" for 4 million years until 1984. Were Cheetahs around 4 millions years ago? I don't believe so, who knows? Still I look past certain things that don't make sense to me.

transformersvoice, please do not resurrect old threads. This is mentioned in rule 8 of the Rule Addendums viewtopic.php?t=1920 and on a sticky at the top of this sub-forum.

Can I please make a suggestion towards this 'necro post' rule? There are many, MANY new people to the forum every month. We're all aware of that.
Many (if they're any like me) want to get a feel for everyone in the site, by checking out all available posts. And if they like something, will respond I'm sure.
If you think about this logically, replying to a post that might have been collecting dust (and therefore, adding a a fresh thought, or a new outlook or heck, even those who posted originally might have changed their views) is a good way to help ease their way into the forum.
Also, it verily saves on bandwidth to reply to a post already made, instead of making a new one, only to be told it already exists, but that they aren't allowed to post on it.
I totally agree that anything over a year old should count as a 'necro' post, like any other forum.
But other then that, couldn't you guys be lenient? You're claiming necro after a month...
I only stop BY here once a month (busy schedule, trust me. Sinead and Star know my horrible hours).
So do you guys think it'd be possible to amend these necro post rules to something more...realistic?

For now I'm going to keep the rules as is, as that's the way I and my mods prefer it. I don't have time at the moment to assess whether a change is needed, as unfortunately I am without Internet as I'm in the process of moving house (typing this from my aunt's place). However, when I'm all settled and have regular net access again, certainly I'll re-open discussions about what counts as an "old" post and therefore necro-posting. I'm always open to hearing suggestions from the forum members and your request will be considered.

Ha ha! I'm so glad somebody else thought of that too. I've been wondering about that for a while, acually. I don't really care about prehistoric mistakes or things like that, being a creationist, but the fact that a crab ended up in a jungle surrounded by mountains is hilarious!Kamikaze wrote:...Why would it be a king crab? Emotions are the colors of the soul. They are like Crayola crayons: you want the 64 set box with the pencil sharpener, not the dollar-store 4 set box.
