And I thought you'd complain that you aren't being paid enough :P

Actually, this would be a very useful topic. If anybody here does Geography, this will help greatly with the Economic Systems paper.

*Goes all geographical on y'all*

Though I don't follow the stock market, I am studying the effects increased food prices are having on people in developing countries. Rice production went down a while ago, because demand was not high. But NOW, rice prices have shot through the roof, and the demand is proving difficult to fulfill.

And wheat! My god, America is the largest wheat producer in the world, am I right? Australia lost over a third of its crop this year, but could someone enlighten me on what's happening in the US?

I did see some improvement in the stocks a few days ago (or maybe it was yesterday), but I doubt it will reach the level it used to be, whether points are increasing or not.

I've been watching the news a lot more lately, mainly for geography reasons, and I was astonished to see a Tent City set up in California. Ouch! House prices are high enough in the UK, but no one (as of yet, knock on wood) ha had to live in a tent.

Gold: We bought a pair of gol earrings for my mum's birthday about 2 weeks ago, for KD35, which is about $130. I dunno what it was before, but I didn't expect to pay that much, because prices are usually very reasonable out here.

The price of parmesan chees has gone up out here. I have to take it easy with my pasta :P

>.> *looks at insanely long ramble*

Ahem...geography student moment. Ho-hum.

So.......help me out? Input? (Good topic, Beastly. Beats Googling it  )

Hmm Jagna, I'm not sure about wheat over here. But as you were touching upon, our biggest problem right now is the housing industry. House values, instead of increasing, are going down. So people who were hoping for secure investment opportunities on the houses are getting stiffed. I guess I don't really know too much about it, but basically- its becoming really hard to sell your house for a worthy price, and its really easy to lose money by relocating to different houses.

I don't know much else.

I'm not really feeling the recession because I'm just a teen- I don't pay for anything. But, food hasn't really diminshed at my house, and I haven't seen much scrimping, if any. My parents are pretty good at using their money, because they have ten kids (I have five brothers, and four sisters). Up until about 4 years ago, everybody was living in the same house, but then one of my brothers moved away. Then, just last year, my oldest brother bought his own house, and the brother right above me in age (and sibling directly above me too) went to West Point (the Army college).

So now there's seven kids living in this house, and my oldest sister is very near to closing on the purchase of the house she wants. Then she'll be gone.

But, after my rant, I guess I have to see, I'm not really feeling any effects.
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.
