Well for me, Garry was the main reason why I got into Transformers in the place. :) I watched a little of TF: Armada a couple of years back and loved his voice, Its individual, deep and can go from sincire to commanding in flash.

I did some research on Garry and got into the whole Transformers thing....I can't believe I overlooked Beast Wars when it was in original syndication! Its one of the best cartoons of the nineties! Excellent writing which led to excellent performances. Wholly underrated in my opinion. :)

I really like Garry's rendiction of Prime, it has just as much justification as Cullens. Its not Garrys fault that he had bad scripts with little room for manoevre with the ADR, I think his performance came out pretty good considering that, which just shows what a professional he is.

Ultimately, what I love about him is that that he seems just an average guy; theyre's no pretention with him, just down to earth...he seems the type you can have a coffee and a lengthy disscussion with. :)
He's just an incredibily versitile actor, his range his outstanding. Both in voice and live-action. All those varied performance roles hes had over the years, all that experience really shows. I hope he continues to get larger live action roles, as with his talent theres no question that he couldn't handle it.

So, um, if you couldn't gather already, he's got a great deal of respect from me, in terms of his acting ability and what hes like as a person. Like many on here, i'd love to meet him. And if you're ever in my area, Garry, you're welcome for a 'cuppa anytime. *laughs*

As far as I'm concerned, he IS Optimus Prime/al, because even though Mr. Cullen was the original Gary's got him beat in serieses.
Right on, Starath! You know, my mom said the same thing along those lines. "Garry's been voicing Optimus the longest now. Peter had his chance and he abandoned the show." A little harsh because I like Peter but Garry certainly has been much more involved for a longer time now and the younger fans recognize his voice more. Oh well. We still love him. I'm just glad they didn't fudge up the movie or the characters.
Tell him he's gotta come back! I may not be the World's Biggest Primal fan but still, WE LOVE YOU GARY!!!!!!!
Will do, Starath! I'm going to copy and paste all these comments and send them to Garry via e-mail. But keep adding them because it may be a few weeks or so until he gets back to me from my previous e-mail. I could send him another but I try not to flood people's mailboxes with several e-mails when I could just patiently wait to combine it in one later. *shrug*
Yeah, He has such a commanding yet calm, gentle voice that was perfect for the role Optimus Primal!
I know, I love his voice. It was perfect for Primal and perfect for a brand new TFs series after the first. Though I must admit, after hearing Peter's Optimus again, I love that deep, controlled voice as well. Of course that went better for the movie Prime because he was so tall and commanding.

I love both Gary's and Peter's voices especially in the movie (so cute  )

But I grew up with the Beast Wars so I was used to Gary more.

Like you OOP, My mom also said the something. She loves Gary's voice also but she never knew Peter Cullen until I told her that he was the voice of the Original Optimus Prime."But what about Gary?" She was used to Gary and she wanted Gary. She's getting to like Peter's voice though but Gary's her favorite.

Like Starath says, WE LOVE YOU GARY!!!! :D

Optimal Optimus Primal: me and perhaps RA, will tell him what you've said as soon as possible. It'll probably bring a tear to his eye.
Sure, i'll be more than happy to tell him. I've had his addy for months and havn't used it yet. Now seems like the perfect time. ;) Just as long as you copy what i said about him, you hear? *pokes OOP and laughs* XD

Ohnoes, yet another plague has been unleashed from the Matrix! Send in the Sweeps! Call the fire brigade. Heck, call /anybody/ to join the torch and pitchfork-weilding masses!

(Say...where can I get one of those T-shirts?)

Anywho, I was going to post a new topic on the upcoming Transformers series but the pictures had expired on the Seibertron website. So here's another one I Googled;

Oh...hey look, it's Batman to the left of OP! No, wait, that's a unicycle. My bad.

Personally, I wish David Kaye all the luck in the world in voicing /this/ Optimus Prime. There had better be one heck of a damned good storyline behind this. And less robotic spandex.

I know David Kaye will do a terrific job on OPtimus Prime and I wish him luck too!

I just hope we can all convinced Gary to keep on going to Con's and not be discouraged by what ever happen to make him feel this well (did someone complain about Gary or what was it anyway?)

Jagna: Awe. I understand how difficult it is for you overseas to come to the States and attend a BotCon. I will most certainly tell him what you said. What everyone has said. I'm sure it will have some sort of effect on him.
does he have a dog? how much does he love it? kidding. i would never do that
*taps my chin* Funny you should mention that...  Nah, I'm not going to share personal things he shared with me. That would be rude and inconsiderate, and that's not me. However, I like your thinking, yesss! Mwahahahahaha! *cough*
im still finding this very hard to believe
I heard it twice from him myself, Curse Hawkwind, but I'm not going to try to prove anything else. I'm just going to try and change his mind. :?

I agree with what you said, RA. I respect him greatly and I love his voice. He has been the best Optimus so far, in my opinion. :D
Like you OOP, My mom also said the something. She loves Gary's voice also but she never knew Peter Cullen until I told her that he was the voice of the Original Optimus Prime."But what about Gary?" Interesting, yesss. My mom basically knows little next to nothing when it comes to G1, and very often gets the characters confused along with their voices.

My mom: "So, David was Megatron in the old series?"

Me: "No, that was Frank."

My mom: "Oh. Was Frank Megatron in the movie?"

Me: "No, that was Hugo."

My mom: "Oh. Why wasn't it David?"

Me: "I don't know! It's Hugo! But Frank's Megatron in the new video game. And Peter's Prime."

My mom: "And he's Prime in the movie?"

Me: "Yes."

My mom: "It should've been Garry."

Our discussions sometimes... *shakes head* She has trouble with names sometimes where I'm really good at remembering them so I have to help her out keeping them straight. Parents... Aye.
*unviels her 'Garry Chalk Groupie' T-shirt* Too right Una, too right. XD
Gimme! *reaches for shirt* :D
I've had his addy for months and havn't used it yet.
*backhands RA* Bad! You e-mail him! And send him some slagging artwork. :P
Just as long as you copy what i said about him, you hear? *pokes OOP and laughs* XD
No, I didn't hear, you were poking my ear! Kidding!
Personally, I wish David Kaye all the luck in the world in voicing /this/ Optimus Prime.
Me too, Lady O. He was doing some Optimus impressions at the convention and I have to tell ya, he wasn't too far off from Garry's. It's like they all just copy each other. From Peter, to Garry, to David.
There had better be one heck of a damned good storyline behind this. And less robotic spandex.
Here ye! Here ye!
(did someone complain about Gary or what was it anyway?)
I haven't heard any details, only what RA posted from William's post.

This meeting never took place. *shifty eyes*

I cant be sure, I saw it on a forum and i thnik its fan created..anyway i hope so, although it probably isnt. I usually like stylised graphics, but right now thats burning my Transformer loving eyes.. :? I suppose its not too bad...*squints* ah, huge improvement.

Meh, i'll get used to it.

Everyones right; David will do a fantastic job. Enormous talent. :D

*backhands RA* Bad! You e-mail him! And send him some slagging artwork. :)
Ooow. *rubs hand* Alright Alright. Im off on holiday soon, i'll get something done for him then :) Something tells me its going rain non stop anyway. XD I'm just finding it really hard to find a photo as detailed as what I used for David's. *roots around her hard drive*

That's better, yesss.

Sorry I can't help you with pictures. On my way to the BotCon, our computer expert called us and said our Gateway's harddrive was kaput, so I lost everything I had on there: photos (including the MechaCon files but at least I printed those last year), drawings, board sigs, everything. I'm very upset about it but it's my own fault for not backing anything up on CD's. *sigh* Anywho, now that I'm starting over with an empty harddrive, I have no pictures of anyone on here. No Transformers pictures. No Garry, Scott, Alec, David. No one. So I am unable to help you with your drawing, as disappointing as that sounds. *sniffle* I'm sure you'll find something, though.

That's really too bad, I would have liked to meet Garry sometime. I wanted to go in past years to a convention, but really couldn't.

Do you still have the hard drive? If you do, did you reformat it or anything? Sometimes it's still possible to recover things from them, even when they appear dead. I've had a few that were able to be kept online long enough to copy data from them.

*dizzy from lack of sleep*

*blushes* Thank you, Starath. I would probably react some-what like you when you met Kaye, although with less squeaking but equal amounts of blushing.

 *bowing* N-nevermind, it was silly to ask. I'm sorry! *dashes off*

IF I ever meet Gary CHalk or even David Kaye, I will probably be glowing red on my face  because I'm just shy and I get nervous around people I never met before especially voice actors from my favorite show.

So I'm probably will be excited to meet them but also scared

I still hope Gary changes his mind though. He is a part of Transformers and I hope that mistreatment doesn't ruin it for him.

Awe, you guys are too sweet. I KNOW he has to meet all of you! XD
Do you still have the hard drive? If you do, did you reformat it or anything? Sometimes it's still possible to recover things from them, even when they appear dead. I've had a few that were able to be kept online long enough to copy data from them.
After my brother tried repairing it or getting it on-line, and failed, he suggested we take it to his computer genius former co-worker/teacher who might've been able to do exactly what you just said (those are almost the exact same words that came out of my brother's mouth). But he told us that it was kaput and could not be activated again to retreive anything. My brother also suggested sending it somewhere to California where they might be able to open it, but it would be VERY expensive, assuming they could even recover anything. We weren't willing to spend the monies so we just asked for a new harddrive to be installed on that computer so when this new primarily-made-out-of Dell parts computer croaks, we'll have a back up while it's repaired. So that's that. I thank you, though, for your suggestion. :D
This is going to sound incredibly fan-girly of me, but...
Indeed. No, I'm just kidding, Nurann. XD I understand.
May I borrow his email address? I guess... I'd just like to thank him.. for his work as Primal... I guess... I'd just like to thank him.. for his work as Primal...
Awe. I know you love him and Primal like I do. Unfortunately, I don't just give out anyone's e-mail address like flying frozen waffles. I always ask for their permission first, no matter who they are. My siblings don't even know his e-mail. I would be more than happy to ask him, whenever he replies back to me. Maybe I should make that a separate e-mail after all... But it usually takes him a month or two to respond, which I suppose isn't bad if you consider all the e-mails he must get and all the work he's still doing. x.X I wonder if I should just give you his fanmail addy instead like any other fan could obtain. Or maybe I should leave the ball in his court and give him your e-mail addy so he can have the option of contacting you or not. o.O

RA: Were you going to send him all these comments since it was your wonderful idea in the first place? Or would it be too awkward for him to get an e-mail like that from a "stranger," for lack of a better term? I don't mind if you want to, but if you want me to, then I'd like to send the e-mail soon.
IF I ever meet Gary CHalk or even David Kaye, I will probably be glowing red on my face because I'm just shy and I get nervous around people I never met before especially voice actors from my favorite show.
I'm very much the same way, una, but after you meet a couple, then you calm down and realize that they're just human beings like you and everyone on this board. Scott and Garry are really friendly and open, so I doubt you'd be shy for long. :D You just have to treat them like a human and not a god. And when you meet one more than once then you get more comfortable. Easy peasy. 8)
I still hope Gary changes his mind though. He is a part of Transformers and I hope that mistreatment doesn't ruin it for him.
Me too. *grabs a pillow* We'll softly beat it into his head like subliminal messeges.

Don't worry I'll treat them like human beings Try to get me to talk is the problem! I'm just too quiet!

Subliminal message alert: Gary! Conventions! We won't bite! We just want to meet you!
