lol I challenged you twice and you beat me both times, even when my brother was coaching me. It's driving me slightly batty.
think the "Battle for the Allspark" game on Transformersgame.com (ENTER BATTLE) is a lot more fun, I've gotten up about 130 wins on that game.
Well, now that I'm hooked on TF games... Is it a paid game, Beastbot? And is it similar to the Chevy one at all, or much, much better?

Well, now that I'm hooked on TF games... Is it a paid game, Beastbot? And is it similar to the Chevy one at all, or much, much better?
No, no money required, and they have weekly prizes for the top winners. Basically you pick a model of TF, each with different strengths and weaknesses, like the Chevy game. (And unlike in the Chevy game, most, if not all, of these models are being made into actual toys in the TF movie toyline-- they're drones in the upcoming console game.) Then you're taken to a world map. Depending on the number of wins, either the Autobots or Decepticons control the Allspark, as well as certain sections of the world. You enter a section of the world, and then you move to the same tile as another Transformer to battle them. You start out with only being able to choose three level 1 attacks at one time, but as you accrue more wins, you can choose from more and more powerful attacks. For example, I'm at the highest level you can get in the game, a "Major" with over 120 wins, and I can choose from... geez, at least 50 different attacks, with me being able to perform six different attacks without switching some out.

As for the actual gameplay, each player picks their next move simultaneously, and then the attacks are resolved and the next turn begins. Each attack requires a certain amount of energy (though you do regenerate some energy each turn), and of course you each have a number of hit points, and when the opposing robot is defeated, you win. It's not just a "punch, block" kinda thing, though-- there's several different effects you can also inflict on others as well as yourself from Self-Repair to Focus (increases the power of your attacks for the next few turns) to Burn (some damage taken for the next few turns after the main attack) to a LOT of other status indicators which are too numerous to list here. It's sort of like the cardgame Magic: The Gathering, in that some moves go great together and others not so much. (I've found that Focus---> Double Punch---> Double Punch works REALLY well for n00bs, for example.)

The only drawbacks to the game are 1. It occasionally glitches on my computer, though not often-- for some reason occasionally a person you battle will just "sit there" without the game doing anything and you'll wait forever unless you back out of the battle and try someone else 2. You have to be online at the same time as another person if you want to face them and 3. You HAVE to fight a robot on the opposing team. For example, I'm a Decepticon, and if you sign up as a Decepticon, you can't ever battle me unless you also create an Autobot account and go about it that way.

It's quite a fun game, and a great way to pass the time.

Yeah the online game is fun. Up to lietenant I think (as SilverfromOz naturally). But all that aside, how yummy does the REAL game look?

Giant fighting robots climbing around, beating the bolts out of each other. I cannae wait! :D

As for the freeze glitch, I've determined that it happens when you click on an opponent and at the exact same time, they click on another one and two battles are instigated. If you're lucky it'll be yours which runs if not then you end up with a forfeit. Annoying, but whaddaya zpect fer nuttin?

Looking forward to the game, especially with Pete, Frank and co. on board for the voices. ULTRA GROOVY!

BTW did anyone play that Playstation BW game WAAAY back when? I could never find it on the shelves and I always wondered how it was.
It's ok sir. I'll be fine...

Just listen to your commander, bonebrain!

 OK. Using my keen sense of intuition backed up by my force abilities I'm picking up a vibe that this game may not have been a complete success

Well at least the current game looks to me very shiny indeed. :D
