Now I'm curious if Shrek 3's popularity is based on the actual movie itself ^^. I know I would most certainly go and see it a second time if the traler was even /half/ as good as this one, but is there any reason why the trailer was exclusive to Shrek? Luck, deals between Hasbro and Deamworks or a Shrek/Transformers crossover on the cards, perhaps?

Depending on the type of keyboard you have, you can take a general screencap of anything holding down Shift + Print Scrn/SysRq (that's the one key). Hope it helps XD

Dreamworks is behind both Shrek 3 and the TF movie (the latter along with Paramount as well). That's probably why.

It's REALLY hard to see given the extreme motion blur, even if you screen cap it, but if you do it at just the right moment and are familiar with the designs, you'll see it's actually Ratchet and a damaged Ironhide that Starscream is flying past.

If you want to see a good screen cap of it, go back to the link I provided Optimal Optimus Primal with the summary of the trailer. Ironhide's easy enough to make out, though it's easy to mistake Ratchet for Bumblebee if you're not familiar with the size comparison and design (the person who wrote the summary mistakenly referred to it as Bumblebee too, but it was shown to be otherwise later in the thread).

Yeah, it's been analyzed to death on TFW2005, trust me. Unless you're talking about a different scene that I'm thinking of... it's when Starscream transforms FROM robot mode TO vehicle mode, right?

From what I've read in the Prequel comics and Prequel novel, the plot at the very least seems enjoyable and deep enough.
