Where are you in the world?
Hey everyone!
I know this forum allows you to state your location, but not everyone does and I thought it'd be fun to find out where people are in the world and what they like about their country! I've made it a poll as well, to get a general idea of percentages of members per continent.
If you were born and raised in another country, feel free to state that, too. Share your pride on where you're from and what makes your country awesome. ^_^
I'm from South Africa. I lived there until I was 18. I love my country because it is geographically beautiful (we have snow-capped mountains, deserts, swamps, savannah, jungle and more), rich with cultural diversity and blessed with warmth and sunshine. It has a powerful, old spirit (home to the oldest human skeleton every found) and rhythm in its winds and rivers. It truly gets into your blood. Once you have experienced Africa, you never forget it.
I currently live in England, which has many great aspects too. Also full of history and variety (though of a different kind) it has a lot of charm and a quaint beauty all of its own.

Indeed, I will admit that Sydney is Superior to Melbourne in the field of sucking, but all else is a gross exaggeration.SilverfromOZ wrote:Now we should have special categories for Australia here Sapph because we all know about how superior Sydney is to Melbourne![]()
Sorry Razor, couldn't resist mate![]()
Well that makes a grand total of two vote from down unda
In fact, the only thing Sydney had going for it was the fact that Fat Pizza was shot there

But we can both agree that Canberra is boring as hell

Hee, in the US I'm up here in the great frozen north of Minnesota, which is a midwest state that borders Canada in the north, for ya'll who are geography savvy.
I just love the way the Internet can bring people of all nations together! Never would have thought I'd know somebody in Australia and Kuwait!
When we all grow up, we ought to go into politics so that way nations can be run by friends and the world would get along fine.

Well Razor, Sucking like a fox!!
To paraphrase a brilliant line from a Mr. Homer J. Simpson.
Canberra has its uses (i.e. fireworks and such) but yes is boring at bat-s.... anyhoo.
Yep, Crab, Starath, definite Yanks through and through. If you want to get a rise from your NZ mate just inform him that NZ is a forgotten state of Australian much like Tasmania. Then sit back and watch the profanities fly.
R.I.D. you must choose your allegiance. China or USA. Which superpower will you align with? (I'd go with China to keep the diveristy around the site

Red Sox pride.
I'm first-generation Irish (Mum came offa the boat), and I've got family all over the world from Ireland and England to Australia and Korea! So I like to call myself Irish, even if I'm not born there. (Aussies are 2nd cousins, and the one in Korea is an English teacher!)

Woo Boston!! I prefer those crazy rainbow socks although red ones do go faster
Well if my TV education has served me well, in Boston you can expect to see William Shatner and James Spader running around as kooky lawers in the mid-city districts with a groovy theme song. (I love that series
) I'd love to fit in Boston to this trip, however I'm not sure I'll have the time, however I think most people are swinging by Boston on the way to Botcon which should be a Prime opportunity to check things out. Awesome. Now I'm off to plan the rest of the year. Huzzah.

Well that's Hollywood for you everything is fake.
Oh well I think I'll revert to my fantasy land as opposed to this reality thing where I high-five Shatner and buy him a round of drinks when I bump into them filming him on the street.

It's ok sir. I'll be fine...

Oh and Fizzy I'd really love to get out to the Carribean Islands one day. Would be super awesome. I look forward to you having the Black Pearl all ready to sail as we seek ancient Aztec gold and encounter high-seas adventure
