BWINT GATHERING: FLORIDA

Unread post by Landray DC »

Okay...I need a tentative list of those who are interested in going to the BWINT Gathering: Florida next year. No dates have been set, an area has not been picked, I'm still working on all of that, but I need to know how many people MIGHT be able to/are interested in intending.

:) Thanks guys. Can I maybe get this stickied for a while?

Oooh, you were being serious.

I'd love to attend but I'll need more info. And I can't promise just yet because I have no idea what's going on for my two favorite conventions next year. Have to play it by ear for now. But I'll keep it in mind! :D

I wanna go to Seaworld! :x

Same with Optimal Optmus for me, would love to go but gotta wait till more info emerges...are we still thinking about doing it right before Botcon?

Anyway, yeah it sounds like fun. Been forever since I've been to Orlando...I wanna go to the Universal Islands of Adventure, oh and Epcot, cause Epcot rules.

I'd love to go to the FL Gathering, but I won't repeat what's already been said. :P

If it's right before Botcon '07, though, then I wouldn't be able to make it. *sob*

I'm hoping to make it. Heck.. if the dates are right, and it happens when I'm in Florida in June, I may be able to host it at my family's time share condo. But this is jsut speculation. I'd like to go but still. have to wait and see.

*nod* If enough people want it in Orlando, I might not be of much help. x___x I don't live anywhere NEAR Orlando...*pokes Rade* Looks like I'm going to need your help. Dragony, too. If ya wanna.

As for the "right before Botcon" thing, I doubt it. Why? Because me, Rade, and Dragony are all driving to Providence, Rhode Island from Orlando Florida to get to Botcon, and stuffing too many things into a really small span of time is not gonna be nice. @___@ The absolute CLOSEST I'd schedule it to Botcon would be two weekends before. No closer than that.

As for information, I was rather hoping to have it on the West Coast of FL, Indian Shores beach. I know the area well, and while there isn't any Seaworld there, there's a plethora of hotels, beachy little places to go shopping and looking about, a freakin' AWESOME candy shop (*drool*) and...for the love of god, THE BEACH. There's no beach in Orlando. BUT...if nobody wants to have it in the Clearwater/Indian Rocks/Indian Shores/Madiera beach area that's fine. x_x T'would just be easier on ..me. @_@ However, as of right now, I am planning on having it in the Tampa Bay area, sometime around two weeks before Botcon. I'm going to go "hotel fishing" next time I get down there and price all of the hotels in my target area.

Heh, well, you know I'm interested.

However, a thought has occured to me that I may have to pick between going to Botcon or heading down to Florida. I have no idea as of yet which it will be, if any. I need to be sure I have the means to get there first. @_@

I'd probably need a lot more time between the BotCon and the Gathering. Rhode Island is much closer to me so I doubt I'll be flying up there which will save me money (if I decide to go). But I seem to be alone on this board with the MechaCon, which is certainly something I'll be considering next year as well. I was thinking about attending a StarGate convention that's being held in Canada next March, but those cons are waaay too expsensive (just for the tickets, not including hotel and travel expsenses).

So, for now, since Florida is rather far away from both destinations, and depending on how much money I'll be spending and how much time I'll be taking off from work, I'll probably be picking both cons over the Gathering. For now. But if everyone's planning on going to the BC anyway, then I'll see everyone there! Again, if I go. :x I'm really trying to talk my brother and mom into events. My mom seems fine with it, but I don't know what my brother and his fiance can afford next year. :? Just have to wait. It's much too early to decide anything right now. In the mean time, I'll be waiting for the MechaCon schedule and the MechaCon and BotCon guests lists. :) Splee!

I'd love to DC, but I intended to go to Botcon next year, and that much time off work/school/real-life-responsibilities (curse those things!!!) is waaaay too much. At least I'll see you there...

I just MIGHT be able to. Maybe. Maybe as in plans could change at a pin drop. But here's hoping! Especially if it's falling in June or July...

Hi LDC,

all I can say is that I'll be over in Florida between during 19-24th Feb next year. Now it does not mean that you have to have a special convention on my behalf... or does it? :P In the space of that trip, I already have Transforce and the Tokyo International Anime Convention and possibly a Robot Wars thingy with Caboose Moose so adding another to that list would be awesome. As Sapphire stated I'll be all "Conventioned out".... if there is such a thing. :D
It's ok sir. I'll be fine...

Just listen to your commander, bonebrain!

Yes dear...

Hello. I am here to tell you all that I am officially stepping down from organizing (or trying to organize) BWint Gathering 2007: Florida.

If anyone who is still coming down and wants to chat, lemme know, I'm not adverse to meeting someplace and exchanging handshakes. My email is: metalmanta@yahoo.com, AIM is: GeneralCordovan, and if you're interested in meeting with me (for whatever reason) I will give you my phone number over AIM or email.

Sorry guys. Good luck to whoever takes up the duty.

The gathering for Florida is for the US Jagna. The UK gathering is probably going to be in London.

I'd love to come to another gathering but I'm planning on going to Botcon since it is close to where I live this year and I have to be careful since 1, I'm gonna start saving up this coming payday and 2, I don't think my workplace would apprieciate all the traveling and leave of absences. :x
