i was just wondering whether the name NIGHTSHAFT has eva been used in any transformer series. i no its an odd question, but i just thought of it for a possible fanfic ill b writing for beast wars...but im not sure if iv heard it sumwhere befor...can anyone elp me???

Seibertron.com has a neato search feature that allows you to see if a TF name has ever been used before 
It's also quite handy for researching existing characters. Although the description on the tech specs for the toys were never always correct they sometimes reveal things you'd never expect.
Nightshaft turned up no results.
Thundercrackers bio, for instance, portrays him as a potential doubter of the Decepticon cause.
If G1 were ever to get a retelling (Ala Battlestar Galactica) it would be interesting to see Thundercracker defect to the Autobots.
