Saturday chat?
I guess my question is as simple as my title. Would anyone be interested in doing a chat this Saturday?
I'm actually having a little bit of trouble pulling up the bravenet room though. Maybe it's just my computer...

Bravenet...? *scratches head* Oh yeah! Jeez, I don't think we've actually used that in... 7 years? I think that thing has been a part of BWInt since before it was BWInt...
Actually, I wouldn't mind trying to revive the old tradition a bit. Used to be Saturdays at 2pm eastern time on AOL, although, I'm thinking skype or msn is much more reliable these days.

Ooh! A chance to publicly humiliate myself in a digital medium! I'm definitely keen on this plan
Sadly, though I am pretty booked this saturday however I would love to be a part of this old school tradition resurrection so if we organise things I'd be very much up for it. Personally, I should have Saturdays free after the 22nd May (up till then I have a 21st, my little counsins' communion and a LAN party).
So are we talking a type-y chat or a talky chat? I'll go with whatever for a type-y chat (just let me know what you guys use) but if we want to take it one step further and use voices then I'd push Skype as I have found it to be very reliable. If we want to go one step further again and have a multi-user video extravaganza then I have recently come across a program called ooVoo. I had to implement it at work for one of the bosses to chat with important people overseas and it seemed to work quite well. I know that some people may not be comfortable with the latter two and if thats the case then the type-y chat is fine by me

I've never done this skype thing... it sounds intriguing.
If it accepts my laptop's microphone, than I'd probably be able to do that.
But I guess what other people want. I feel like it'd be strange to be having 1/2 the people on a chat room, and 1/2 on skype.
Then again... maybe probably could work. I don't know, hee hee hee. I guess the best thing for us would be to experiment.

We used to do primarily text chat, and if everyone wanted voice, we'd slip in to one or two of those occasionally. The advantage with skype is that it does that mix very well (aol and yahoo never worked all that well for most people when trying to do that). Lol I think the first time I did that was with Sinead and the other Blaze... XD It's fun, it really is. That's the funny thing about our community; when we start talking more in RL, it's like, "hi, you aren't a stranger, I've known you for years! What do you mean this is supposed to feel weird?"
If anyone has scheduling issues while trying to figure out time zones, Silver showed me this interesting site... http://www.timeanddate.com/

Ok, I've set up a skype account under the name "Blazemane". I think I've found SilverfromOz, but I don't know other account names.
And sorry to hear you've got that much work ahead of you, Phoenix. I hope the exams go well.

Oooh, a new Skype account? Sounds quite good. My only problem would be forgetting I have it after a while

I hate to say it, but now I'm busy with something from 12 to 4 (Eastern time for me too).
But maybe we could just have it later in the day.
Either way, we've got to do this at some point. And then, perhaps, do it some more.
