I HAVE RETURNED!!!
Hey everyone! I've got wonderful news: I GRADUATED BASIC TRAINING!!! =DDDD
So here I am right now: at AIT (advanced individual training), with all my electronics and taking classes. It's actually a lot more relaxed here than at basic, but there's still just enough stress to keep us from shirking our work. We actually get to go to the store anytime we want during our personal time, we get to eat whatever we want (so long as it's not something that's illegal), and when we go into phase 5, we get to wear our civilian clothes on and off post!
Things were really tough in basic. I barely managed to pass it at all! But I'm glad I did. I stuck through it all to the end, and now I just have to get through 5 months of AIT.
Maybe sometime tomorrow I'll tell you guys some of the things that I got to do in basic and how it was. =3 *glomps everyone* I missed everyone so much!! TT3TT

Thanks for all the congrats guys. And the hugs! *hugs back everyone* I missed everyone so much that it's not even funny!
Dark: *gets tacklehugglomped* YAAAAAAAAY!!! 8D I was wondering if I was gonna get anything from ya. My mom told me she had emailed you to let you know I was at basic. Did she send any of my letters to you by email? I thought she said she sent them.
Sinead: Yeah, I'm glad I got out of it alive (with some pneumonia left-over from it. *coughs*) I'm in the Army Reserves, and I'm training at Ft. Huachuca in Arizona (aka, the middle of nowhere. Not a lot of people have heard of the place because it's up in the mountains). So far AIT isn't that bad. We're just mainly doing classes and we just recently got our equipment (our cavalar helmets, pistol belts and canteens, sleeping bags, etc).
Basic training? Let's just say that it was pretty stressful. Stressful enough to deter a certain monthly visitor for almost three months. O.O But then again, it's really only as hard as you make it out to be.
Now for some of the juicy stuff! During BRM (where we get to shoot our weapons), we got to shoot our M16 rifles (I actually got a 28 when it came to getting our Marksmanship testing part of the training, which is good). Then, I got to shoot a machine gun (I swear, if that thing wasn't supported against something, that thing would have run me over like Rhinox in beast mode!), launch a grenade from an M16 (or something close to it), and we got to throw live hand grenades too!
If I had thought about it, I'd have said that I felt like our favorite demolitions expert, Rattrap!
FTX (Field Training Exercise) 1-3...well, the first one we didn't really get to camp out on. We had set up our tents (I had one to myself since there were only 19 females and two per tent), but later on in the day there was a tornado warning, and they didn't really want anyone to get injured like some did several cycles ago, so they had us go back to the barracks.
FTX 2 we actually got to stay in little "hooches", or little cottages with a pot-belly stove for a heat source. It wasn't really all that bad, but when it came to getting back to the company, the females were getting on my case for not having my stuff ready, and I had my stuff done way before they did! It's not my fault that two of them had to borrow my duffle bag because they didn't have room in theirs and I was the only one with the key to it! (again, I wasn't sharing with anyone because there's 19 of us).
FTX 3...oh boy, that one was the CRAZIEST one we've been on. The first few nights or so, we actually had to get up when we heard a "bomb" go off (it was a live one, but they just exploded it from a distance to make it seem like a real combat zone), and then we'd have to get dressed in our battle gear, put on our boots (some of us actually slept in our boots just in case, if not for the rest of the time we were there), and then we'd have to secure the perimiter. This lasted for a good hour or two before we could go back inside, and even then, it's wasn't until it was midnight that we could go to sleep, and even THEN we'd still have to get up at 5-6:00 in the morning to do our duties!
The fun thing we did there at FTX 3, though, was when we went to a "village" and some of us dressed up as Iranians (<- can't spell worth slag). I was one of them! =3 It was fun. One of my Drill Sergeants there, he ALWAYS did everything with us and he always made things interesting and exciting. He's so random that it's hard to tell what he'll do next!
Well, that's all I have for now. I'll probably write more tomorrow if I think about it. Right now it's way past my bed time and I need to sleep. Night everyone! *conks out*
