Q&A with BW and BM Developer Marv Wolfman

Unread post by tronprogram »

Marv Wolfman, who wrote the BW episode "The Probe", helped to develop the idea for Beast Machines and also wrote 5 episodes of the series, has agreed to answer some questions.

Marv is also a comics book legend having worked for Marvel in the 70's, 80's and 90's.

Any questions you have for Marv, please post them here and I'll do my best to get them answered by him.

Many thanks everyone :)

1.Since Rhinox was familiar with Temporal probes and how they work does that mean they weren't the first crew to be lost in another time?

2.Was the transformation lock-lens something you came up with for the script?

3.Was their any particular character you enjoy writing?

4.You wrote this episode with Craig Miller. Had you work with him before this project and how was it like?

5.What aspects for Beast Machines did you develop?

6.Was their any character you wish you could develpo more?

Great questions, Dannn. I want to stress to everyone that these Q&A threads for the BW writers are a unique opportunity to discover some of the imagination and logic that went into our favourite show, so you really should take the chance to ask your questions. This may never happen again.

Many thanks to Tron for organizing all this. :)

Tronprogram, your avatar is awesome.

I suppose you shouldn't ask Mr. Wolfman that.

Question:

"The Probe" was one of very few Beast Wars episodes which presented the chance for the Maximals to outright win the war, but in the end, their plan fails, and the episode is left on a somewhat dark note. Beast Machines, too, is considered by many fans to be the darkest Transformers series to date. Do you particularly enjoy darker material, or did the idea for "The Probe" and concept for Beast Machines just seem fitting at the time?

If there were an episode of Beast Wars where a superhero was somehow infused into the plot, what superhero would you most enjoy seeing fill that role?
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.
