........a bitter disappointment.
Now, I'm not a hardcore X Files fan, but I like it. And even if I wasn't a fan at all, I'd know: IT'S NOT THE X FILES!
Seriously, the whole way through, pretty much, I thought, wtf?!
***(Here come the spoilers....MIND YOURSELF)***
WHERE, I ask you....were the aliens?! I mean come on, even if you didn't actually watch the show obsessively like my sister did, you'd think you'd see something...X Files-y. But nooooooooo. Body parts and psychics? I mean, puh-leez. Billy Conally...you just can't take him seriously, my dad says. Fair enough, he's a funny man.
And while Mulder and Skully do rock...their bits were sooo tedious. I was ready to fall asleep, but I was too busy shifting about in my seat and fidgeting to do so. Not to mention the theatre wasn't even 1/4 full. And we thought we wouldn't find seats.
And, and I don't mean to offend anyone, but there was a nig spotlight of faith and god in this movie, which I think just didn't fit. There were random nuns showing up all over the place where Skully worked and you were like, wut?
And the female agent-in-charge.....(these are quotes from a convo we had in the car on the way home)
Sister: who does she think she is? She called him Fox. NO ONE calls him Fox!
Me: Yeah
Friend: That's why she died! *in a really 'rar' voice, overly dramatic*
All: rofl
....I did warn you all about the spoilers.
I swear, we still haven't resolved between us all who it was at the end, the agent or the second woman??? If you watch it, you'll know what I mean.
And what a stupid ending!!!!!!!! Nuns, wtf? My dad wasn't impressed by the whole thing at all. Neither was anyone in the theatre. the film 'ended' and everyone just sat there going o-o
Overall, as I said before, a bitter disappointment. My sister was almost in tears, she was so disappointed.
Btw, did you know that hard core x files fans (incl my sister) call themselves, 'X Philes'? Lol, that's great.
I wouldn't recommend this movie. It doesn't answer ANY questions as the director/creator guy claims. Thank god it was 2-for-1 Wednesday for the tickets....

Was it really that bad? Yikes. I was never a huge fan of the show, anyway, but enough to have seen the first movie in the theater way back when. And even then I wasn't too impressed with that one; it was all right. I thought this one had a chance of being better but I trust your review and taste in movies, Jagna. That's kind of disappointing. I guess this one's a renter, huh? Was Robert Patrick in it at all since he kind of took Mulder's position on the show for a while? Maybe they just wiped his character clean and didn't plan on ever bringing him back into the loop.
I wonder if this movie had any competition with the new Indiana Jones movie since both had to do with aliens. Jones sounds like it was probably a better ride than X-Files. The action was non-stop in that movie; I liked it as much as the first three Jones.
"Well, that's just prime!"
