Happy Halloween!

Unread post by Optimal Optimus Primal »

Halloween rocks. I love this "holiday," but it would be cooler if I had off from work to enjoy it. So, did anyone celebrate it this year? I don't go trick-or-treating anymore but I still wear a costume for the kids who come to the door and the little horror movie parties my sis and I host. Anywho, I know I showed some of you my costume last year, well, this year I finally completed it. I'm officially a part of the SGC and SG-1 team now. ...General O'Neill said so. Now, all I need is a Zat!

Those hats don't look good on me so I rarely ever wear them because they make my ears stick out. And the boots are VERY uncomfortable. But overall, I love it!

Describe your costumes or show pics! ...Or make fun of those who wear costumes. Shows us your carved pumpkins too! I love pumpkin carving. XD

Here are five pumpkins my sis, her boyfriend and I carved using patterns I've been collecting. From top left to top right, to left to right and so forth: Pirates of the Carribean skull/sword logo, Pirates of the Carribean Davey Jones' head, a cat sitting in front of the moon, the Cheshire cat, and a scary looking Jack Skellington face from Nightmare Before Christmas. We have a lot of fun with Halloween. :D

My family used to carve pumpkins, we don't anymore unfortunately, though I always liked it.

My costume was fairly simple, I dressed up as Optimus Prime-- blue jeans, the Movie Prime Voice Changer helmet, and the G1 Optimus Prime "chest" T-shirt.

And how'd you create a costume like that? I wasn't aware of any SG-1 gear available or anything...

OOP! I DEMAND to know where you got that costume! i've always wanted to dress up as an SG person even not for Halloween.....>.> what? that's not strange!

unfortunately, this year my school didnt have a Halloween mufti day. my costume wasnt so inventive last year, ao i did someting really special for this year. puh! fat lot o good it did me. not even the drama group im a member of had a party like they usually do!

but i still brought it with me! i defy those who dont hold parties....and those who DO but dont invite ME!

trick or treating does exist over here, but for Halloween, funnily enough. and it's only treat really. after ramadan, there is a 'holiday' before the real holiday of Eid called "Gurgiean" (gur-gee-ahn) children walk around in traditional costume and sing at your door till you cant stand it you just throw something over a gate.

i will have my day some day. YOU WILL SEE!

as for my costume, i'll post a pic of it later. im at school right now and the head of the 6th form is sitting right next to me of all places >.<

Happy Halloweenie ppl!

I was Cobra Commander. I went trick-or-treating and made one of the biggest grabs I've ever made. Unfortunately, the costume was rather tacky and I recieved comments such as:

"Very economical costume." Then she laughed.

Lots of people said: "Nice costume" and giggled.

Others said nothing about the costume, but could hardly suppress their laughter. Some couldn't suppress their laughter and just laughed out loud.

In particular, one person was smirking and I said "Yeah, pretty bad costume right?" They merely replied something like "Yeah, it is."

However, some people actually recognized it was Cobra Commander and being fans of G.I. Joe, were happy about it.

It's not that Cobra Commander can't make a good costume. Mine was just very tacky.
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

I couldn't do anything for halloween sadly. i have a cold and am like 20. It was really cold in my town last night and there were a lot of fires. People in my town get real crazy on halloween.

You were Cobra Commander for Halloween Blaze? Which version?

 Jagna, your costume is hilarious! I love it! It rocks! XD I wish you could come to my pathetic horror movie party.
My family used to carve pumpkins, we don't anymore unfortunately, though I always liked it.
Awe, that's stinky, Beastbot. It is kind of messy, though. All squishy and slimy. XD I love that pumpkin smell.
My costume was fairly simple, I dressed up as Optimus Prime-- blue jeans, the Movie Prime Voice Changer helmet, and the G1 Optimus Prime "chest" T-shirt.
I knew there had to be a Transformer on here. That's awesome, Beastbot! I had a little guy come to the door with the whole little Optimus Prime outfit and I thought it was really cute. He was the only Transformer I saw all night, not that we had a lot of trick-or-treaters because it was raining on trick-or-treat night. :x
And how'd you create a costume like that? I wasn't aware of any SG-1 gear available or anything...
OOP! I DEMAND to know where you got that costume! i've always wanted to dress up as an SG person even not for Halloween.....>.> what? that's not strange!
 EBay, my dear Watsons! Well, most of it is from eBay. The jacket was the most expensive because it was the only size small they were selling and it's an exact replica from the show. The three patches (Airforce, SG-1 and Earth) were sold separately on eBay and I had to sew those on to the jacket. The hat, vest and leg holster I also found on eBay, but they aren't identical to what's used on the show. The pants and boots I bought on some other site called Galaxy Navy or something like that. And the shades are mine. I've spent quite a few dollars on the whole thing but it was totally worth it. You can get real Stargate memorabilia from the set like props, and clothes the actors wore or autographed but I lost that website. Those things were kind of pricy.

I know, Jagna, I like to wear the jacket wherever I go but I don't want it ruined either. I've only worn it to the theater once and to a theme park a couple weekends ago where someone actually commented on it and wanted to know where I got it. He was a Stargate fan! Whoo!
after ramadan, there is a 'holiday' before the real holiday of Eid called "Gurgiean" (gur-gee-ahn) children walk around in traditional costume and sing at your door till you cant stand it you just throw something over a gate.
Huh. It's really interesting to hear about the other holidays around the world. I'd love to sing at someone's door and annoy them until they threw something at me. XD
Well, I was a deprived child, My parents never liked Halloween so I never went Trick or Treating.
Awe. That's kind of sad. My dad usually carted my three siblings and I around. We used to hit the town that was about 5 minutes away and eventually had to change our trick-or-treat bags to pillow cases because we'd get tons and tons of candy going door to door and the pillow cases were sturdy enough to hold it all. I miss those days.
But this year, I just put on my white heart t-shirt and some purple angel wings. Just for fun!
Yay! ^_^ Sounds cool! My younger sister has a pair of wings somewhere. I think they're black... or purple.
I was already to give some candy out but noone came to our door. Too bad cos I'll have to eat all these chocolate now....... *Moves closer to candy bucket that was unguarded*
*tackles the bucket of candy* It's mine! MY PRECIOUS! Eh, I have enough of my own candy left over from the lack of kids coming to our door, so I'll share my bucket of candy with you. CHOCOLATE!
Love the Pumpkin carving there Optimal Optimus Primal!
Thank you, Nyx! ^_^
I was Cobra Commander.
Nice, Blazemane! I don't believe I've ever seen a Cobra Commander running around.
It's not that Cobra Commander can't make a good costume. Mine was just very tacky.
I know the feeling. At least the fans knew who you were. People commented on my costume but the kids didn't really know who I was. One thought I was part of the Swat team. XD Others would just say they liked it. *shrug* Stargate uncultured fools...
at least it wan't put to waste. i got to scare a few kiddies at drama school tonight!
 Nice, Jagna. It does look very creepy! But I still love it. ^_^
i have a cold and am like 20.
That stinks smelly butt, LW. I hope you get over that cold soon. And I don't think age matters when it comes to Halloween. I'm almost twenty-four and I still have a blast carving and dressing up.
It was really cold in my town last night and there were a lot of fires. People in my town get real crazy on halloween.
 Well, that's kind of scary. Heh. o_O

I only know of two types of costumes he wears, and their only real difference is the head piece (Ihaven't watched the show all that much).

Um, I attempted basically what's in your signature. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the mask reflective, and I had to cut eye-wholes, so it looked like a hybrid of the two head pieces I know.

YAY CANDY! *holds out bucket for everyone* Candy anyone? :)

The only person that came to my door was my Dad's friend who owed some money to my Dad. I offered him some candy but he didn't want any, saying "I'm Not a Trick or Treater person." LOL!

Okay, the SG1 costume and the pumpkin head ROCK.

I did the angel thing too. Lol considering what day it was, the number of stares an angel walking around downtown Edmonton gets was pretty unusual.

I love hearing about holidays from other cultures, too. There was a little but in the paper about Eid, but that's the first I've heard of Gurgiean. You've got me all curious now!

So, um... *cough* Does anyone else celebrate Samhain instead of Hallowe'en?

Er, and on that note, ghost stories, anyone?
