Time

Writer's Note: This story is not meant to offend anyway in any way; I wrote it purely for fun. Thanks to The_Crab for beta reading!

The water licked the sand hungrily before drawing back into the crystalline sea with a swish, taking shells and beached seaweed with it. It surged back up, devouring the front of the young femmes silver feet and landing a small metallic crab on her ankle. She shook it off into the flotsam and watched as it scuttled back into the surf.

She was troubled, and crab legs were the least of her worries.  Looking across the sea, she could see fish-bots enjoying themselves, swimming and diving with one another. There was one among them she had met the first day she had arrived here in the Matrix, two weeks ago. He was a warrior bot named Depth Charge.

The femme watched as a red bot that resembled a crab burst out of the water behind him and landed on Depth Charge, sinking him under the water. He laughed and disappeared as the ray-bot reappeared, spitting water and looking about angrily for his attacker. She laughed a bit as his annoyed expression as the one known as Rampage appeared a few feet away. They had told her their story before; having been enemies, but now, away from the real world, they tolerated each other, even played around with each other.

“To forgive is divine,” she said softly, thinking of her mothers old voice repeating that to her every morning after studies. Stretching, the femme turned and wandered up the beach, leaving the loud bots to their games. Rampage had been forgiven by Primus the first day he had come back.

She hadn’t even seen Primus yet.

“Steady there butterfly,” a deep voice said, “You’re going to go straight over the cliff.” Gently hands caught her waist as her foot landed on thin air. She glanced up at the bot behind her, smiling.

“Thank you Tigatron,” she said as she regained her balance.

“You’re welcome, Glitter.” He patted her shoulder. “You look distracted. Are you alright?”

“I’m alright,” she shrugged, sitting on the edge of the cliff, kicking her legs back and forth against the rock. The older Mech sat beside her, setting a hand on her shoulder.

            “What is bothering you?”

Setting her hands in her laps, she twiddled her thumbs nervously. “Well,” she hesitated, “When did you first meet Primus?”

He seemed surprised at her question. “The first day I arrived here with Lady Airazor. Lord Primus was waiting at the gate for us.”

“At the gate?” Glitter’s shoulders sagged. “He knew you were coming?”

“Of course,” he smiled, “Primus knows when all of his children die.” He noted the sad look that came over her face.

            “All of them?”

“Yes,” he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, “Why do you seem so sad at the thought?”

“I haven’t met him yet.” She responded sadly.

“You haven’t?” He asked, surprised at the very thought. She shook her head. “He was there when you came, though. He had to have been.”

            “I never saw him.”

“That’s impossible,” Tigatron disagreed. “He greets every spark that enters the Matrix. He should have been waiting at the gates for you.”

“He wasn’t,” she shook her head; “I haven’t seen him since I’ve arrived here.”

“Its been two deca-cycles since you came,” he thought out loud. “Was anyone with you when you entered the gates?”

“Hundreds of others were with me,” Glitter said, thinking back to that day two weeks ago, “the whole front line of both the Maximals and Predacons. It was during the first battle near Iacon. All of us were just standing there outside of the gates until a really old bot beckoned us inside. He greeted a few of the soldiers, but he didn’t even look at me.”

Tigatron gently rubbed her back as she slumped down over her knees. “I’m sure he was just a little busy with all of the soldiers. It is a war; bots are dieing every moment. He’ll find you soon enough.”

“Do you really think so? What—what if he doesn’t have time for me?” She bit her bottom lip, which was trembling. “What if he doesn’t want to see me?”

Tigatron wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him. “Don’t be silly, Glitter!” He hugged her tightly. “He loves you! He always has time for you!”

“Then why haven’t I seen him yet?” She asked, moving away from his embrace. “What if he doesn’t care about me? What if I’m just a screw up?”

Tigatron gave her a saddened look. “You’re no screw up, Glitter.” He stood. “He cares for you. I’m unable to prove it, but it’s true.” He turned and went to meet Airazor, who had landed a few feet behind them. He led her down towards the beach for a walk in the lights of the setting sun.

Glitter slumped back down, glaring angrily at the arguing Rampage and Depth Charge. They had both met Primus the day they had arrived; why hadn’t she? They disappeared further along the beach, heading for Skyline City, where most of the bots, Maximal and Predacon, Autobot and Decepticon, lived.

Rubbing one of her silver butterfly wings, which were drooping over her shoulders in dejection, she watched the day fade into night. She moved to rub at her optics, which were beginning to fill with tears.

Gentle hands wrapped around her waist and pulled her into a soft, strong lap. She leaned against the Mechs chest, optics off. She could feel love and warmth radiating from whoever he was. The Mech rested his chin on her head as she moved it beneath his neck, as she had done with her father not so long ago.

My child,” he whispered as she began to drift off in comfort, “I always have time for you.
