Well, this is quite an honour. I don't know how it happened but before I knew it I was being called up for phone interviews and photo shoots. After being nominated for Australian of the Year it just snowballed from there. The link below is to a picture in my newly created myspace account which is an article about me. If anyone is interested here it is. I'm throwing it out here because you guys have been so cool and didn't know if you want to know more about me.

Additionally, I leave this thread open for other people to link their myspace and personal websites here.

Oh, Congrats Silver!
I'm not a myspace person either sorry; not because I hate it, but just don't know what to do with it.
But I just can't seem to be able to read your article :(

I hope you don't mind my doing this, Joe, but I signed into Myspace using my sister's account and got the direct image link, which is here:

Thanks Sapphire. Much appreciated. The My space thingy is all new to me. #cue in my day story#

lol Well you haven't seen me for real life. I assure you the canine qualities appear in the sunlight

Though our appearances my by quite far apart with the distinct lack of Cybertronian alloy and wings, I can assure those of you who have followed my ranting that this is where Silver's spark resides. Proud, fast, noble and dumb as a sack of hammers.

Thanks again for the cudos guys.

Congratulations Silver! :D
I'm Aussie too, and I /think/ I may have heard about this beforehand but I'm not quite sure. At any rate, commendable efforts sah!
(I wish they taught us fencing at school...)

Wow...I really should check these other forums more often, not just the Beast Wars Talk one.

With that being said...WOW! Gotta thank Sapphire though, since I ended my MySpace account long ago. Without Sapph, I couldn't see this awesome article!

Anyway, congrats man! Woohoo!

Somehow I imagined you looked like that. o0 ...But wow! Australian of the Year... that sounds cool. :D ..And so you fence. 0o I wish I knew how to use one of those medieval swords (talkin' about a claymore). I think I'm too slow for fencing (and besides, we only have about 2000 people that are into fencing here in Finland...). If I knew how to use a claymore, I would probably take part in a LARP.

Btw, you know who Marianne Curley is? (If you don't, she's an Australian fantasy author, and I really like her novels.)

...Would you ever use a sword that looked like this?: http://graphipedia.squares.net/image/We ... Shotel.jpg (I believe that is what an arakh from "The Song of Ice and Fire" looks like)

Thanks.... at least I hope the first sentence was a completement

Thank you for the congratulations. Much appreciated. :D

Claymores are crazy things. All about momentum. Apparently the guys who used them back in the day would have a "training" claymore which weighed alot more than their battle sword. This way their body would be used to the extra weight and they could pick up their monstrous battle swords with no effort and swing it about easily. These guys would have been BUILT!!

I hadn't heard of Marianne Curley however I will look into it as soon as I get back. thanks.

I would love to use something as cool as that, however the closest I have gotten is some backyard-constructed broadswords that my cousin and his friend made. They were constructed of thick steel and we would duel with colourbond (metal they use to construct fences around houses) shields. It was great fun but boy were they unwieldy.

My weapon is more like the traditional rapier and in actual fact were I to come up against a heavy-sword-wielding maniac, they would not survive, because this technique is a lot quicker (i.e. deadlier) and you can accurately target weak spots in your opponent's armour.

Fencing is not a huge sport in Australia but that's what my club and I are trying to improve. With the support of the Club Marconi Soccer Assosciation, we are starting to pump money and advertising into the sport. Fingers crossed, we'll have some success.

...I suppose you wouldn't probably defeat a Japanese guy with two katanas, eh? ...Especially when he's fast and acrobatic. ................ http://www.animecubed.com/galleries/ron ... .jpg.shtml (That's Ryo Sanada from Ronin Warriors)

I have always wanted to use one of these mortuary swords: http://www.firebloodarms.com/product/fb10182.jpg

OT: That Ronin Warriors is a really good anime show. ...At least I get crazy laughing fits sometimes. Just look here (the guy in the pic is Kento Rei Fuan): http://greetings.theotaku.com/view.php? ... e&id=47283
