Anyone ever have it? Curious to?
Just contemplating who else might have since I had my first session today and loved it.

I haven't had it personally, but I know several people who found it most enjoyable. My mother tried it as pain relief too, although it didn't work too well for her.

It's usually spoken as more as something that relaxes your mind, soothes depressive moments and anxiety.
I'm going to it mainly to try and help me sleep at night and to curb anxiety.

I actually took acupressure massage as one of my specialty courses. Same thing, minus the needles. It's pretty incredible what Traditional Chinese Medicine can do when circumstances call for it!
Ugh, which reminds me, I need to go work a few points myself... :/

Acupuncture is a technique in Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses needles to stimulate certain pressure points on the body. Pressure points are usually associated with "meridians," or veins of energy in the body, that coincide with a number of different organ systems. The hundreds of various pressure points can be used to treat any number of illnesses and disorders, from the common cold to severe back pain!

What Nurann said.
The local Mental Health Clinic does it for anyone (not just those using the clinic, they tell people about it in hospitals, addictions counseling and the mental health clinics, to get word out).
This one group is set up in a room with chairs, the woman comes around and puts the needles in (we have auricular acupuncture (for the ears) ) and then you're settled into your chair, everyone is quiet and the lights are dimmed and either you get soothing nature sounds or silence, which ever the group prefers at the time.
It actually doesn't hurt, which I admit to being surprised about. It's like, the tiniest pinch then just a small pressure (not painful at all) in the ear where the needles are (the needles are SUPER small/thin). Then you relax for thirty minutes.
My ear felt warm at first (probably due to the blood rushing there) then cool, like...they were having water lightly poured over them.
If you meditate while having it done, it's really, really relaxing.
Afterwards I accepted the offer to have these seeds (super tiny) stuck onto the ear's upper inner lobe. They're suppose to keep the feeling of relaxation and whatnot going.
You can wear them for a week max. The acupuncture itself is three times a week here.
I really recommend anyone who could, to give the whole acupuncture thing a try. I'm just really lucky that it's free here.
