Mechwarrior Ramble

Hey all!

Now I know there are others who had this particular thought when they saw Blackout flatten the Airforce base at the beginning of the first movie.. (or I just invented those people in my mind... but at least we all agree :D ). The particular thought the I am referring to is the combination of two simple words "Mechwarrior Movie." Seeing the pulse blasts and shockwaves emanating from Blackout instantly made the connection, especially as he was stomping around shooting tanks, planes and squishy humans.

So Mechwarrior movie? Yay? Nay?

If so who would you like to see direct/write/star in it?

What section and what factions of Mechwarrior history should it focus on?

AND most importantly which Mechs should be in it?

Personally, my favourite mech of all time was the Kodiak

Look at it in all its pretty glory :D

However being a relatively unique clan-based mech I doubt it'll be in the first wave. We'd probably end up with an Atlas as the big bad guy's mech and we're definitely going to see a Mad Cat, because let's face it, it deserves to be the poster child for Mechwarrior :D

Smoke Jaguar.

D'I mean... most attention should be paid to Inner Sphere politics, yes, with special attention focused on House Kurita, and Steiner-Davion. I like the Atlas idea, for the Atlas's are awesome.

Smoke Jaguar. Night Gyrs, Grendels, Pumas and the like. Maybe some Cauldron-borns. Yeah...

And most importantly, the fearsome Daishi. Oh yes.

This may seem kinda' weird, but I think Peter Jackson would do well directing a Mechwarrior movie. And hire some of the writes from 24- they'd do well with the political intrigue, pre-action tension, etc.

I actually don't know too much about the story- I'm just biased towards Smoke Jaguar since they've been my faction since I picked up the Trading Card Game.

Kinda funny, since that was the EXACT thing my dad thought when he saw that EXACT same thing. (He's a big MechWarrior fan.)

Honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. It'd be far easier to do than a TF movie.
