Reboot!
I'm new here, so I dunno if there has been a thread on this topic already or not.
I'll admit that, indirectly, Reboot was sort of the reason why I got into Beast Wars in the first place. Reboot was the show I saw when I was a kid, sometime during the 90's. Then, sometime last year, when a friend and I were talking about Reboot, he asked me "Have you ever seen Beast Wars? They were made by the same company."
So I peeked at Beast Wars on youtube, thought it looked boring at first. But I decided to give it a try, and quickly got hooked.
But anyway, have any of you guys seen Reboot? If so, what did you think of it?
I really liked Enzo and his dog. I think my favorite episode was the one where Mike, Dot, Bob and Enzo got stuck in a game together, I dunno I think it was called "Witches and Warlocks" or something like that. Anyway, they spent the entire episode arguing, when the key to winning the game was working together XD

Very little Americans heard or remember ReBoot.
But for us Canadians,we worship that show.Honestly,we did.
And I applaud you Dreamscreamer for mentioning this Series. It was the first Series Mainframe has ever done, and without the sucess of ReBoot,Beast Wars showed up...and those two have become one of the milestones of 90s cartoons;a revolution in that decade, where beautiful animation, excellent storytelling, and brilliant voice acting are done to us wee children, who, one day, will want to be a part of that industry.
Oh my,I'm now starting to cry.

It was the opposite for me, Dreamscreamer. Because of Beast Wars, I started watching ReBoot and I liked it a lot. It was very original. I liked it even more when I found out that it was the first 100% computer generated show. Kudos to the Canadians!
My favorite characters were Megabyte, Hack and Slash, Mouse, Turbo, Hexadecimal and AndrAIa. It has been a very long time since I've seen ReBoot, so titles of episodes are extremely vague in my mind. I only have one DVD with four or six episodes on it.
Now, has anyone ever seen War Planets (or Shadow Raiders to our Canadian friends here)? I liked that show as well. It was also made by Mainframe, correct? Was it made after Beast Wars, though? Because I'm pretty sure Beast Wars was after ReBoot.

Ack!Mainframe trvia.Let me enlighten you my friend*Cracks knuckles*
Actually, the first CG show was not ReBoot,in fact,Canada was second to an animated Series named Insektors, which was created in France. However,ReBoot was in fact the first full-length CG cartoon and lasted far longer than Insektoids.YTV did air a Canadian version of that Series(And I remembered watching it,yippie!)and it was close to the orginal script(As the show was French, after all),but was sadly gone...even YouTube doesn't seem to have the original French,or the Canadian dub.
My favourite character of all time has to be Megabyte and Matrix.I just love them both!
Shadow Raiders! That show was one of my on and off Mainframe shows as a kid,as my cousin never approved it then, and I,didn't approve it either(I was a follower then, don't judge me!lol). This show was also done by Mainframe during the Second Season of Beast Wars and aired around the Third Season, along with the Third Season of ReBoot(When many of us assumed it was the last one)
So,if you put that in order, these are the shows you get from Mainframe.
ReBoot>Beast Wars>War Planets>Wierd-Ohs!>Action Man>Heavy Gear>Spider-Man>Hot Wheel Movies>Barbie Movies>Max Steel>Other Movies/Series>Zixx Level Series.
And then we got Rainmaker.

Recall that before YTV had full rights to the show,ABC was the one that called the shots on ReBoot,as Standards and Practices were the ones responsible for the campiness of Season I.When ABC got owned by Disney around Season II,ReBoot was eliminated from them...which is how we Canuks got that long delay in the first place, but we picked it up and the Series evolved rapidly from there.NaitoKage wrote:Ah Reboot.. People praise the last season most on that. the First season was rather strange and campy at times as I remember..

Well, it's been a long time since I have seen ReBoot but I remembered the characters and some of the episodes vaguely. I liked it.

I saw a lot of the episodes on Youtube a couple of years ago, in fact that's how I saw some of the episodes that I either missed or that didn't interest me much when I first saw them.SkyxDB wrote:I think I used to watch that show as a kid, but it's been a really long time since I've seen it, so I don't remember much about it. I wonder if I could find the epsidoes on Youtube or something.
You know, when I first saw the episodes where Enzo and Andrea were grownup, I think that was sort of a turn-off for me, at least back then. I mean, I was used to the campy routine of the first season, so to speak, along with kid-Enzo and all his antics.
Then Enzo and Andrea get lost in the games for a long time (at least to them) and they're all grown up by the time they get back home. Plus Enzo became a grim, serious character who was easily jealous when someone else flirted with Andrea. He lost his temper easily, and he was kind of like a thug in some ways.
Nowadays when I watch it, I kind of like the grownup versions of the characters because they give the show a more serious tone. Plus we still do get kid Enzo back later, so to speak XD
Ah the memories. I used to be totally, totally obsessed with that show.

I really did like this show! I also saw this show after I had already knew of Beast Wars. I "found" ReBoot on Cartoon Network's Toonami where I also found Dragon Ball Z.
But ReBoot was a good show with a serious feel to it after Enzo and AndrAIa were lost for awhile and I liked that seriousness a lot. I guess my favorite characters were Bob, Megabyte, and Matrix.
There are also a lot of cool voice cast comparisons to Beast Wars. Bob from the third and forth seasons was voiced by Ian James Corlett (Cheetor). Slash was voiced by Gary Chalk (our Optimus). Hack was voiced by Scott McNeil (Rattrap, Dinobot, Silverbolt) from mid season two to season four.
I really like this show and I wish it would come out on proper seasoned DVD sets.

I remember that show! Like most Canadians, I adored it.
My fav characters were Hex and Mouse. Hex cause she was batshit insane, but interestingly so, especially towards the end (before and after turning good) and Mouse because she was a take no prisoners-I-take-what-I-want-what're-you-going-to-do-about-it kind of woman.
I admit I don't know all the logistics with how it came to be in regards to first CG show or what have you. I just know I watched it the same time Beast Wars was on (which in Canada was called Beasties, since we aren't allowed 'War' in the title of a kids show...oy...)
