Stats

Unread post by Alak »

So I was checking out stats from the Beast Wars toys, and I was curious what Hasbro meant by "Skill". Rhinox only has a skill of 6 while Cheetor had his at 7 (10th anniversary editions too!). I'm sure fans of the show would probably switch it because Rhinox was shown that he was the best at what he does (a.k.a.- miracle worker).

What do you guys think of this?

I don't know. Dinobot's stats aren't that great either. His smarts are kinda low but I remember him being very intellegent.

I think it's just messed up. I mean have you seen the starts for the TFA toys. They are totally inaccurate!

I used to have this card game with those statistics and I agree some of the statistics were very inaccurate.

However the card game was kinda cool though!

The problem with the toy stats is they didn't reflect on the TV show at all. Rhinox the toy character is not Rhinox on TV. Tarantulas was supposed to be a ninja spider, not a scientist. Which leaves Bat Optimus Primal and Croc Megatron who were supposed to be the original characters in new bodies, all which was ignored and retconned.. resulting in King Kong vs Godzilla (the beast modes were inspired from those characters some sites say.)

Well the newer 10th Anniversary toys had revamped appearances, stats, and bios (even came with an episode disc). Even Optimus Primal was bumped down from the straight-10s. The only thing that confused me is that Rhinox had an intelligence of 10 but a skill of 6. I thought he'd rock at both categories. Cheetor had a much lower intelligence but a higher skill level, and yet he's the one always getting rocked.

Slight piece of forum history, I think we pretty much decided not to believe the official bios after an old member by the name of Flyby came up with something called the "Tree Test;" the bot's bios often say they weigh several tons, however Cheetor clearly manages to sit on a tree branch without breaking it. Therefore, if a bot can fit in a tree without damaging it, then their bio's weight must be scaled back accordingly.

Anyways, there's some history for you...*goes back to lurking*

Can you link me, I don't think I was there for that. Here's all of Cheetor's stat cards:

Here's the most accurate one to date:

Not even the BW Sourcebook says anything about cheetor's weight (or any character's). Do you know which bot bio Flyby was referring to?

Well it is kind of hard to reflect a transformer weight. I mean they didn't move anything acrobatic but the floor didn't rumble when ever they moved.
I think of this as an animation defect of back then
(**(Now about the stats)**)
Well most of the toys were left out from the series (Witch i think it was a bad idea) so they pretty much left out every aspect from that.

Lol Alak I think that was back in the days of Aimoo, so that was at least 5 years ago. I don't remember what the resources were now. I just remember her theory in general, and that it was based on the scene in the episode Dark Designs where Cheetor's sitting on the tree and the couple of episodes where Optimus is hanging from them. Sorry!
