The Intergalactic Highway

He has 3rd degree burns on his whole upper body, 4th degree on his entire right arm from trying to relight a propane/gas bbq thingee. He pushed my lil 11 year old cousin (who was helping him) out of the way but the lil guy got his left pant leg melted from the gas. My step daddy doesn't look anything like himself...it's upsetting. He can't move or talk, it's really bad. To see him, we had to throw on some gloves, a gown, and a bunch of hand stuff. I might not be online for the next few days since we're at Chapel Hill Hospital, well I'm at my step uncle, Crash's house right now. The hospital is so effin huge....

There was a baby in the burn center that was in a trailer fire, poor thing was burnt to a slaggin crisp. They had the baby's room door open for the world to see, it was kinda sad. It overly upset everyone else but it didn't really bother me...am I a bad person for that?

*hugs everyone* When I do get home, I'm sleepin so I'll get online tomorrow....or whenever I wake up. I'm so fraggin tired...

It just seems that way 4 some reason, bad luck streak? I dunno...

My uncle feels really bad cause he was the one that asked him to relight it. He's been at the hospital since it happened Sunday, no sleep at all. I'm goin to try and find a way back tomorrow, Mom is spending the night in the hospital.

I'm so sorry to hear about that, CZ. *big hug* It's good know they are alive, though. I pray your step dad and cousin make full recoveries. I will keep them in my thoughts. Everything will be all right, okay? ^_^

My mom just called and said that his arm has 4th degree burns. They're doin graffin surgery today...

I asked my cousin Michael (one of the many firefighter/EMTs) and he said 4th degree was MAJOR nerve damage and was when the fire burned to the bone.

It does sound very bad, CZ, but I don't think that's true. What you must be thankful for is that they are both alive. ^_^ And as much as you shouldn't think about this part, it might have been worse if things had gone differently. I would say your step dad had good luck in a terrible situation. The same with your friend you mentioned not long ago who was in that awful accident. You have to stay positive and optimistic to help them.

I agree with OOP. Keep your chin up. As horrible and cliche as it sounds to hear, there is always a reason for everything. I've lived through enough crap and stupidity and problematic situations that I can tell you that with assurance. Your Step-Dad is alive, which is more than a miracle in itself. That he was able to push your cousin away is a second miracle. I'll keep them both in my prayers.

To answer your question from your initial post, no, you're not a bad person. It could be an indication that you're able to deal with medical situations better than others, possibly with a doctor or medic's mind.
