Not quite the Southwest, as the organizers were originally planning, huh?

It's great for the local fans, but while I'm in driving distance from Lexington, KY, I'm not going to it.

Man I wish Botcon would get closer to canada so I could go for once. Drives me up the wall that its in the USA all the time.

It'll always be in the US. If they tried to organize BotCon up in Canada (let alone another country), things like duty fees, taxes, etc. would likely make it even more pricey to cover costs (for both the organizers and the toy dealers, most of whom live in the US anyway; their duty fees across the border would be a nightmare), nobody would be able to go.

Cheetor: There is a Botcon of sorts in Canada, called Transformercon. It was in Toronto last year. Hacker typed up a report on it which can be found at the site:

Wow...I know, like, nothing about Kentucky and it's way off from the region of America I was expecting Botcon to be in. Not that that really affects me - come hell or high water I'm going! *waves fist defiantly* The hotel is expensive, though. ;_; So I'll probably end up staying in a Holiday Inn or a cheaper hotel nearby, unless we get special Botcon attendee rates which make staying at the Regency affordable. The dates *look* okay for me, too. *squeal excitedly* I'm really looking forward to going! Anyone else here gonna be able to make it?

Actually this is about an hours drive from where I live, so if anybody is attending and would like free lodging for the convention, send me an email and we will work something out!

Free lodging, huh? Hmmm... I don't know for sure if I can go yet (though I REALLY want to), but if it saves a couple (hundred) bucks, hey, who knows? Maybe a friend over in the Hangar may be interested in that offer as well, though it'll probably also depend on how many people you can accomodate at one time.
We'll talk.

Yup! I've talked with my mom, since it is technically her house, and she says she doesn't mind how many stay over so long as there is no smoking, drinking, drugs etc...
Also the largest car I have access to is a 5 seater, so if anyone is driving down, Beastbot and possibly Dragonsflayme? and would like to stay at the house please get in contact with me!

You and I have already talked earlier today; thanks for the heads-up, Haxx!

Nah, I don't need to stay, though thanks for the offer, Hacker. Me 'n Dad prefer to stay at the hotel so we don't have to drive anywhere anyways.

That's alright, the drive will be about an hour and 20 minutes.
personally, I don't mind leaving here at 6:30 every morning (though I suppose what time we leave the house depends on what the con schedule looks like), but I know there might be those who like to sleep in a little bit more than that.

of course some could sleep on the way there if it is too early.
So just to throw out an idea to consider, if those staying at my house would like to pitch in and buy a hotel room or two closer to Lexington, we could probably work something out.
I'm flexible, just let me know what sounds good.

Hmmm.... West Virginia + gasoline + hotel + Kentucky + money = ...scheiße
Joshin = poor
Looks like I won't be attending this one, either...

I will most likely be there, given that it's a good month after school starts and before midterms.. And the friday of the con as of right now, we don't have any classes on campus. Woo.
And thanks for the rooming offer Hacker! But i beleivei 'll prolly stay at the hotel given that Botcons tend to turn into family trips.. Save the offer for someone who needs it more, financially wise.

What?! For once it's a state closer to me than further and all of you are saying you can't make it? Fish paste!
Outty: Thank you sooo much for the info. I'm psyched. As of this moment, I plan on attending. I reeeaaally want to know who the guests will be but that usually isn't announced until later. No sweat, unless it's all last minute like last year was.
