how did he survive falling into larva which killed off terroursaur n scorponok

does this mean terrasaur could have survived

imagine wat would of happened if they gave scorpo a TM2 body even in toy line like they did with inferno

he survived because he had the combined power of his and the original Megatron's sparks. He tried to copy what Optimus did: Merge his spark with his ancestor's to make himself more powerful. Optimal Megatron if you will.

as for the lava itself, well:

it took Optimus a few minutes or so to change into his Optimal form after merging with Prime's spark. It would have taken Megatron a while too, so the transformation may have already started taking effect when Tarantulas and Quickstrike threw him in, we just didn't see it like we did OP.

Plus:

Writer 1: Dude! How cool would it look to have a huge dragon come out of a lake of lava?

Writer 2: In it goes!

What Jagna said and more, lol! I imagine that Megatron survived the lava because unlike Terrorsaur and Scorponok (who fell into the lave just as they were beginning to transmetalize) he was already a transmetal and far more powerful than either of them (we see that Tarantulas was able to survive being hurled into the lava by TM2 Megs even after being torched as well, transmetals have more resistance to such damage). I believe that Megatron's dragon form and surprising upgrade into a transmetal 2, rather than a more powerful transmetal 1 like Optimal Optimus, was due to the heat and power produced by the lava (it mutated his T-Rex form into that of a mythological dragon, a beast form that couldn't possibly be obtained by normal means...plus he had the combined malice and power of G1 Megatron along with his own...we all knew he wasn't gonna come out pretty, lol). In short, Megatron survived because he was already in the middle of transforming and was strong enough to survive the lava, heck, the lava probably speeded things up.

P.S. He also survived because he's the lead villain of the show and without him the Maximals wouldn't have any evil plots or schemes to foil, Yyyyeeessss....

Couldn't have said it better myself, Jagna, DarkSpark. ALTHOUGH:

Noooooo...not with Tarantulas still alive and kicking...yessss. (Though how long he would survive when Inferno found out who betrayed his Queen is up in the air...)

Sunblock. Before going out on a tyrannical rampage, Megs always makes sure his exoskeleton is completely protected from UV rays. That's right kiddies, Megs says "Skin cancer is bad. Yessss...."

and we all needed some kind of "Galvatron" though he wasn't named that he might as well have been. All the other Megatrons become Galvatrons.

Yeah, but thats what makes BW Megatron stand out (he doesn't need to rename himself just because he's gained a new form and it sets him apart from all those other Megatrons were saw in shows like Armada, Energon, and Cybertron). After watching a bunch of pale carbon copy Megatrons undergo a repaint and a name change to Galvatron, it gets old, lol. Besides, judging by how Megatron holds his namesake in such reverance and respect, and by how Galvatron is only alluded to once in the series when Starscream possessed Waspinator, I think Galvatron isn't held in as much high regard as G1 Megatron was. Even though they are techinically the same person, Megatron and Galvatron have such different personalties they may as well be two separate characters. G1 Megatron was cold, ruthless, calculating and took true pleasure in conquest and domination and possessed a real passion for plotting his enemies downfall(plus, he showed some degree of respect toward the more loyal and useful members of his army, such as Soundwave and Laserbeak...whereas traitors and constant failures like ol screamer recieved the brunt of his anger).

Galvatron on the other hand was a raging lunatic prone to psychotic outbursts over even the littiest of things, who gave little thought to strategy or planning like his former self did, and who tended to beat the slag out of his own troops even when they were trying to help him (which in turn earned him less respect from his soldiers than Megatron has held). I think BW Megatron wanted to be thought of as G1 Megatron's successor because he was the most beloved leader of his people's ancestors (whereas Galvatron was probably remembered for being a tyrant even by Decepticon standards and raving a mad bot).

all that being said, I still like galvatron as a character, for his raw power and love for doing his own dirty work on the battlefield (but I can't ignore G1 Megs was much more competent leader)

Did anyone besides me dislike the Transmetal-Dragon design? :? I just thought it looked horrible when they didn't change his face at all, leaving it purple while the rest of his body was colored like fire. It felt like it clashed horribly.

yes I didn't like that they left it purple. if they wanted to change it maybe they should have made it black but I guess megatron's purple face was a trademark so they didn't change it though, in Beast Machines, it turned blue.

I'm personally clad they kept his face the same (and I thought his face looked black rather than purple, shrugs). The animators probably thought fans wouldn't respond well to a face lift or something, wanted to make sure he was still recognizable as Megatron after giving him a new beast form.

Actually, his face turned gray!

Gray/Black? It always looked purple to me, but I could be wrong. *shrug*

The "fans wouldn't like a face lift" idea seems odd to me since they changed Primal's face (and entire body) three times (and Cheetor's!). Though I see where you're coming from, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason.

I've always considered TM2 Megs' face to be black and his regular TM face to be purple.

well no matter what color his face is it never really seems to change much, unlike Cheetor's and Optimus'. Megatron's face never gets ugly, though his first look made me think of a dog for some reason. All wel.. he was the handsomest character on the whole show besides Terrorsaur, but Terrorsaur was more pretty than handsome. XD
My only beef it that he goes from being left handed at the beginning than able to use both hands than right handed. (because of T-Rex and dragon heads) I kinda missed the tail shield/weapon when he became the dragon. He seemed to have lost it. :(
Biffy couldn't you have gotten pics of him smiling? His frowny faces make him look weird.

i have a simple solution for that, Lady W

Megatron is ambidextrous.

i was gonna start a topic thread about that, and his designs, but i see this thread ghas taken off with that idea :?
