How many Stasis Pods were there?

Hi, I've always wondered just how many stasis pods there were in the series in total, as well as how many were left unactivated by the end of the series. I know a number of them were activated to become new characters as the series progressed, and that few protoforms were left blank, but what I would like to know is how many were left by the end of the show (I wish to do a BW fanfic and I feel I need to know how many pods were left over so as to be more true to the show). I would deeply appreciate any help you, my fellow BW fans, could provide as to the answer to this question (not ashamed to admit that it has bugged me for years, LOL) :)

oh boy. i was wondering if this would ever come up

heres the thing: no one knows for sure. The only ones you can be certain of are the stasis pod-born TFs, plus a few we saw in Aftermath, with the hand coming out at the end (tht freaked me out a bit)

Ppl have toyed with the exact number of stasis pods in fanfics. Beastbot, for example, had over 20 (if i remember right) all in one area wihin a force shield (i suggest everyone read tht fic, its addicting)

i have also fumbled about with the idea. coz since no one knows exactly how many were in the show, there could be as many as you want! (within reason)

My fic (which will probably never be written) is based around the idea that the Maximals came back to claim the lost stasis pods (coz they really couldnt leave them on Earth, could they?), and it turns out the pods were all functional, and there was a whole community of robots living on the planet.

....again, no one knows this coz its not been written. its all in my head ^^

but if you REALLY want to know i was bored enough one day to count the stasis pods tht wer launched in the very first episode! :P yes, i am that pathetic!

i counted about 19 - 20

see for yourself if ya dont believe me! they were kinda tricky to count, as some of them were tiny...

(btw, must you have these random pols? not only has it been asked before, but it is irrelevant)

Thank you very much for the response and all the useful information you provided! makes me kinda proud to think I'm the first one to bring up the topic of how many pods there were in the series. 19-20 pods....you must have good eyes to count all of them! LOL XD! Your fanfic story sounds good to me, I hope you get around to writing it someday, I'd be sure to check it out. I too have toyed with the idea of writing a fanfic involving the remaining stasis pods on earth (except in my vision the remaining pods start the beast wars anew, dividing into their own factions while searching for a way off the planet and clues as to how they got stranded in the first place). Of course, with that idea I'd have to have a few maximal protoforms go bad (not impossible considering Quickstrike and Rampage) or be recruited by a pred survivor (though in the canonical universe they all died except for Megs and Waspy so I'd have to make up an excuse or bring someone back from the dead, lol). I'll be sure to check our Beast Bot's fanfics as well, they sound good from what you've told me!

P.S. I'm new here, so cut me some slack about the polls. I don't know what has been posted before or not, and I just thought it would be a fun poll everyone could enjoy, so it may be irrelevant to you, but not to me. I also didn't know it wasn't standard procedure to post a poll at the top of a topic, and I asked them because I was curious, not to be random. Thank you for your concern and have a good day.

Um, Darkspark, would you mind not adding ramdomly different-from-the-actual-topic polls to your thread. It's really quite annoying.

Anyways, I recall hearing from a site (can't remember what the name was) saying that there was a total of 50 stasis pods. However the writers admitted that the pods were a plot device so they could add more characters as the series progressed.

I'm gonna have to say that (and this is in consideration of the Gathering series) 50 is an acurate number.

wow, fifty stasis pods! Thats wild! can you imagine how crazy the Beast Wars would have gotten if all of them had been activated?

Actually, DarkSpark, pretty much all of them DID get activated in the Gathering comic.

The Beast Wars Sourcebook issue one has 42 or 43 character profiles in it, but that's including several characters who weren't among the stasis pods, so no one can really be sure. 50 does sound like a likely number.

does anyone have the floorplan to the axalon?

then if we measure the size of a stasis pod

there was the control, quarters for the bots, stasis chamber, engine room

think we can work out how many pods there were..... :? cant we?

sounds like a possible plan, but we also have to account for the fact that some of the stasis pods were bigger than others (Inferno and Rampage were giants by Maximals and Predacon standards, so their pods were much larger than the norm, especially Rampage's, who I think is big enough to pummel an Autobot, lol). sounds like the gathering is pretty wild, I'll have to try finding it then (and its the first book before ascending right?). Is Megatron leader of the Predacons in "The Gathering?" I heard that some guy named Magmatron shows up in his stead or something.

Aftermath is a real episode, it's the first one in Season 2. But Jagna counted 19-20 in the episode Beast Wars part 1.

No, Megs is out of the picture since during The Gathering he was stuck to the hull of the Autobot shuttle. Magmatron went to prehistoric Earth to start his own army.
