Exam Results?

Unread post by Renegade_Artist »

It never really crossed my mind before, but some of you guys must be in the same boat as me; awaiting exam results or have gotten them recently. I get my results tommorow morning. gweh, i'm trying to not to think about it!

I guess this topic's for any student who wants to share, whatever course or exam you're going to get results for, whether you're excited or have a bad case of post-exam jitters. 8) Anyone?

Yup I've got my results tommorow... Nervous like heck!! I mean it's only my AS results so it's not like actual A levels or anything but I'm still nervous! Really want to do well. Subjects I do are:

History
Psychology
English Language
English Literature
General Studies (but then everyone has to do that)

I barely slept last night Prime knows what I'll be like tonight!
Mr Hardy always holds, that a man must tell his wife the truth! Mr Laurel is crazy too!

I get my full A Levels tommorow. Yeah, i hope i've done well too. =p I thought A2 pretty hardgoing, what with having twice the workload and all. Just keep a steady pace though and you'll be fine. So you take 4 academic subjects? cool. I took 2 studio and 1 Academic, being in an Art College and all, i had that choice. I took;

History of Art
Graphic Design
Fine Art
Key Skills (that was compulsory, so i guess its just like general studies)

I'll try and get an early night tonight, but that probably wont happen!

Awe. Good luck!!!

I remember exams. ...I hated exams! Well, the more academically based exams were evil. Anything else that had to be done with the computer was a sinch. XD

You'll do fine! :D

Well, i found out what i got yesterday..

Fine Art = D
Graphic Design = C
History Of Art = C

I'm actually quite pleased, they're all pass grades (D is an average at A Level) So i didn't fail any! I worked my butt off! My Graphic Design and Art History has raised a grade since last year, lol im surprised, i was getting straight D's in Art History but this year I got a A in my 3000 word dissetation and a A in my Artist Exam...its the grade for the Muselogy exam(thats the study of museums, architecture and the like ) thats the weird anomaly, bringing the overall grade down, so i've asked for that one to be re-marked again. :?

Art courses work different to academic courses in that your porfolio is judged over your grades, and that this next course im in gave me an uncondictional offer based on my portfolio before i found out my final grades, so thankfully i didnt have that added pressure of having to get straight A's just to get into the course i wanted, like some more strictly academic peeps do.

My strongest talent will always be my drawing, but thankfully i've got enough brains to get me through!

I start my next course on Monday! 8)

yep, A Levels done and dusted.
are u at uni/college this year?

I'm at Art College for another year, taking a Foundation diploma in Art & Design. Art and Design is an extremley competitive field, and vast, with 70+ specailised fields. That's why its important to have a better understanding of what field you want to specialise in, before taking a Uni course. The majority and the best art courses at University expect you to have a Foundation Diploma under your belt first; they wont pay you any attention otherewise.

The Foundation Diploma at my college had about 800 applicants. Only 200 get accepted. I'm fortunate to say that i'll soon be one of them. :)
you'll have to tell me how you do Jagna!
