Who's more clever? Megatron or Tarantulas?

There is a topic like this at IMDB.com for the Beast Wars Forums so I thought I'd get your opinions in the matter.

Don't forget your reasons and yes making it a points game is encouraged.

Megatron! Let's look at a few episodes shall we?

Chain of command: Megatron knows the maximal's reaction to Primals' supposed death.

Fallen Comrades: Megatron knows maximal sympathies with innocent creatures.

Double Jeopardy: Megatron knows Terrosaur will look like an idiot leading.

Dark Voyage: Megatron can be seen calculating every possibility, in this case, the maximal's survival of the energon blast.

Double Dinobot: Must I explain myself?

Posesssion: Megatron suspects Starscream's true motives (not as well as Blackarachnia, but still).

Victory: Again, must I explain myself?

Call of the Wild: Another good example.

many other such episodes, but my favorite one of all...

Other Voices Pt. 1 and 2: Megatron cleverly guesses Tarantulus' "cleverness" and cleverly uses such "cleverness" to his clever advantage.

So in the end Megatron most assuredly wins, yeeeeesss.

Tarantulus clever, indeed.

plus, its this quote: "Spiders spin their webs, yessss. but i spin them larger..."

he knew what Blackarachnia AND tarantulas had in mind...in BA's case literally

I don't really know. Megatron and Tarantulas have both proven themselves to be clever in their own methods.

So I can't really say who I think is more clever. I'm actually more interested in what people on this site think.

Yea but Tarantulas works behind the scenes in the series somewhat. It seemed he knew about the Vok way before anyone AND he was a mole for the Tripa council.

AND he was working on the Nemesis in his spare time, planning to use it as a trump card against the maximals and the preds.

Yes, but Megs joined his spark with Megatron, became insane in his own power, blew up his most loyal lieutenant and ended up strapped to the hull of the Nemesis. To quote the Evil Overlord List: "No matter how tempted I am with the prospect of unlimited power, I will not consume any energy field bigger than my head".

So who was the cleverest of them all? Waspinator! He became a /God/!

Megs clearly had a really clever mind, but well... he wasn't able to deduce that Tarry was working for the Tripredacus Council. xD And Tarry was clever enough not to let any of his real allegiance be revealed... until the very end, of course.

...He pretty much got crushed and taken apart in many episodes, but he still survived, didn't he?

So yup, he didn't die. Look here:

In the Beast Wars: Primeval Dawn comic, it is revealed that Tarantulas' destruction was an elaborate ruse engineered by himself, in order to absorb the Vok who possessed Tigerhawk into himself. With the power of the Vok at his command Tarantulas now planned to destroy the rest of the Vok and refashion the timeline to his own desire.

Pff! picky, picky, picky! i dont do tht sort of stuff, i just watch BW..so meh

thing is, all these are valid points, and really when it comes to obscure things like cleverness, no one can really tell can they?

I'd say Megatron, 'cause Tarantulas may be clever and tricky, but
he's most of the time always one step ahead.
And even if Tarantulas actually tries to jump ahead of him, he
always has some sort of plan in the back of his hands.

Although both Megs and Tarry never have an idea ready when
some plans backfire...

Pulling out the Megs banner again for this one.

At the end of Season 1, if Inferno hadn't been as trigger-happy as he awesomely is, Megatron would've effectively killed Tarantulas once and for all via the rigged stasis pod. He got Optimus instead, but I digress. Tarantulas is good, no doubt, but S1 shows just how close Tarry came to biting it for good, were it not for our favorite BW pyromaniac.
