Response from Garry Chalk

Hey, guys! Remember that topic that RA started about Garry not attending anymore TFs conventions? I had e-mailed him your comments a little over a week ago and he has responded. I've copied this straight from his e-mail:
I must say those comments from the fans that you sent quite lifted my spirits. I had no idea. Tell them thank you for their support. It means a lot to me.
So maybe everyone's influence will convince him to keep coming! I don't know. He's very grateful, though.
I caught his little appearance on
the 4400 the other Sunday a couple weeks ago. I've never watched that show before but since it was a new season starting, and he said he picked up a role on it, I figured I'd see what it was all about. It's not a bad show but his part was small... and he was a cop. XD
Garry also said he's starting a new animated series called
Roll Bots where he's playing a cop... as usual. XD And he's starting on a new comedy series for CBS called
Aliens in America on Wednesday. I think he's playing a cop on that too.

Poor Garry. So keep eye an out for him!

It would appear Gary Chalk is the real Robocop.

YAAAAYYYY!! It's good to hear that it helped at least a little. I know how bad it can be when you are stabbed in the back by friendships gone sour, I don't even want to think about how its like to be attacked by people you don't even know. If you're talking to him at any point, tell him that he is a really great guy and it shows in his work and in the interview I have seen on the Aussie DVDs. I'd really love to meet him in person at some time in my life just to buy him a round of drinks or a good meal and say "Great work mate." Gentle, caring people like that are very hard to find and I have recently seen others going through similar hardships and I firmly believe that they should receive all the cudos and cheers they deserve. As Terry Pratchett once wrote "The problem with not asking for anything is that you often don't get it."
As a side note, I was greatly inspired by this year's Botcon and saw the potential to have a blast with fans, actors and designers all rolled into one. The result of this is a zany scheme involving the 15th anniversary of Beast Wars, so perhaps then will be a time where all those who worked so hard on this great series will get more public recognition for their impressive efforts.

Slagging type-casting... Hey, the first Robocop movie was on the other night. I haven't seen that movie for
years! XD

I think it helped a lot. Even though it was a small group of comments, it sounds like he took everyone's words to heart.

Awe, I bet he'd love that. ^.^

*delurks and pokes around old-ish topics*
That's great to hear! I read the other thread on this topic, but didn't get a chance to reply because I couldn't get the board to let me stay logged in long enough to post at the time. >_<!
I'm glad to hear that the kind words have helped some! Gary's a sweet guy, and it was sad to hear that he had been so bothered by stuff.

Hey, Dragonsflayme! I was wondering where you've been.

Good to see ya!
I read the other thread on this topic, but didn't get a chance to reply because I couldn't get the board to let me stay logged in long enough to post at the time.
Awe, I'm sorry. I waited a little while before sending the e-mail incase anyone wanted add anything, and one more comment for him could only make him feel better.

I know. I guess we'll all just have to move on and see what happens. I have yet to bug him about that StarGate convention in November in Secaucus... NY? NJ? I can't remember, and see if he'd be interested in attending if he was invited. Like I said before, maybe he'll still go to those once in a while if he decides to decline the BotCons. *sniffle*

*hugs Jag* Don't worry about it. I occasionally hear about Stargate conventions over in the UK as well. In fact, I'm pretty sure Garry attended one before. But I missed him at the biiig Stargate convention that was in Vancouver, Canada this year.

I wish I had gone but it was either that or the BotCon (which was sooo much closer to Pennsylvania

). So many decisions and not enough money!
