Snippets of information are forever leaking about the new TFmovie as it slowly dawns apon us and I for one am already looking ahead to the possibility of a BW influenced sequel...
So here comes the blues, I recently heard that the 'goo goo dolls' are on the new film soundtrack. (i haven't heard them but the name itself cries bubblegum crap)
So to pick myself up again I started thinking about what music/artists i'd like on the soundtrack to the film of my childhood dreams as well as ideas for the soundtrack to a possible beastwars live action movie and this is what I came up with...

Transformers film Ultimate soundtrack:-
1, John Williams (he composed the themes for starwars, superman, and indiana jones and would be a welcome addition to transformers)
2, Aphex Twin (IDM)
3, Rage against the machine(the band name itself would suit the film)
4, Beastie Boys
5, Nine Inch Nails
6, Wu Tang clan
7, Smashing Pumpkins
8, Faith No More

Beast Wars live-action film soundtrack:-
1, Sepultura(a metal band with a tribal feel, seems fitting)
2, Bob Marley
3, Tomahawk(again with the tribal-esque thing)
4, Bear McCreary(he composed the music for the new battlestar galactica and i reckon he'd do wonders for a BW soundtrack)

Well that's all I could come up with but I'd love to read other people's/bot's views/ideas on what music they'd like to have on the ideal soundtrack to these films. ;)

general question: when do soundtracks usually come out? before or after movies? and how long before/after movies? iv never really noticed....

Thanks, Jagna(grrrr....I shall my revenge for your treachery, yesss) soundtracks almost always come out before the film and usually about a month to a week beforehand(like the videogames do).
Beastie Boys would be ace on the soundtrack! They'd add the comedy element to a scene where music was playing in the backround.
So what music would you like to hear on the soundtrack then, little missy? :P

The Goo Goo Dolls are on the soundtrack? I think that's spiffy! I like them. Black Balloon has always been one of my favorites from them. There are more that I like but I can't think of the titles. >.< I'm not very good with bands and music.

You should look up their music, Primus. I think they're a decent band. *shrug*

This was taken from their website; www.googoodolls.com:
in other news we just finished mixing a song for the TRANSFORMERS movie coming out july 4th... that will be the next single this summer and on the radio soon i hope. YOU keep us going so please get involved. i've got a feeling its gonna be a really amazing summer!!

I LOVE JOHN WILLIAM"S music!
I agree, una! And I also like Hans Zimmer's music. He had an awesome score for Gladiator. But it would be neat if they slipped in some Vince DiCola music on the soundtrack as well, for old time sake.

I don't know, Jag. I was going to rummage through their website to see if I could find any more info on it but I think they're main site has Flash, or some other set up that takes waaay too long for my cool dial-up to download. -.-

Actually, Steve Jablonsky is the composer of the original score for the new Transformers movie. He is the composer of other Michael Bay related movies like "The Island", "The Amityville Horror" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". You can find more information at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0413011/

On the other side, I don't know which bands will appear on the soundtrack besides Jablonsky :P Your suggestions are very interesting although

Picturing Megs as Leatherface now.... scary.

Yeah Mike and Jerry's soundtrack will no doubt be awesome fast pace orchestral soundtracks. I'm thinking the aforementioned Island, The Rock, Con Air and such. The kind of stuff that has your adrendaline pumping after you watch it you just wanna run through a battlezone to claim the objective.

I have the sound track I think I've listened to it about 100 times in the times it's been out. Sure I bought it about two weeks after the movie came out but meh. I had money and nothing to spend it on. Heh. I HATE song number 6! It stinks!

I'm not much of a fan of number 6 either.

The ones I do like are 1,4,7,8,9,10 and 12.

My favotirwes were 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 11. Technical Difficulties was a great inspiration for a Soundwave Music video.
