The Intergalactic Highway

There's been some talk on several sites recently about the chance of a TF-themed chess set to be produced. This could cover any TF generation ever made, although with G1 being the originator and what most people think of when they hear "Transformers", G1 stands the best chance of getting chosen for a TF chess set being made.

Still, that's not to discount a BW-styled set to be made, either. And while BW had a much smaller cast than G1 did, it actually wasn't too hard to draw up the "cast list", and almost none of the major players in the show got left out. It was just a case of matching up the characters and their abilities to what I thought would suit them as a chess piece. Aside from the obvious ones for King and Queen, I pictured the Rooks being solid straightforward fighters with heavy armor (like a battalion commander); the Knights as multi-talented fighters, possibly with a high "status" on the command chain; the Bishops as good all-around warriors; and the Pawns as grunts or advance scouts. Here's what I came up with:

Why would it cause "major confusion"? It's not that hard to remember what eight pieces look like, or what they'd represent.

No, I'm saying using 2 bots per piece. Yea a BW fan would be able to play without any problems but if you where to play with a non-BW fan then you would have some problems.

Which could easily be remedied by the manufacturers marking/etching/molding a symbol or logo representing King, Knight, Rook, etc. into the appropriate pieces. Problem solved.

Although, I think Silverbolt would be great as a King piece, and BA as a Queen, but Optimus is the fearless leader.

Aside from humor value I don't see a point to it. Megatron would never let another bot lead unless he had an ulterior motive (like letting Terrorsaur lead to show how incompetent he is).

Now I think the most important gag that is being overlooked is the fact that MEGATRON needs to be Queen. "A bit Obvious but to the point don't you think?"

Ah, yes... I made one of these once, when I was younger. It was terrible, and I don't remember anything about it except that the pawns were anonymous drones (who looked like Death Star superlaser gunners for some reason), and that queens were chosen by rank, not gender. So the Maximal queen was Rattrap, and the Predacon one was Scorponok.
