Does that mean I'm too old to enjoy cartoons? I think not.
Never! I still watch anything from SpongeBob to Family Guy. I love cartoons. XD

Since everyone is talking about when they first watched Beast Wars...I guess I'll have a turn.

Well,as a fellow Canadian who accesses to Mainframe cartoons before everyone,I got to see Beast Wars at September 17,1996...that's right,I saw the second Episode and not the premiere date,as that was the day my brother was born(And couldn't watch TV for an entire day,I would have been witnessing cartoon history by then). And I was pratically set on that Series until the Second Season...due to YTV's infamous scheduling in the past,a kid by the age of 7,does not know a thing about certain dates to keep the show watching...

All in all,I finally completed watching the Series by 2004,when YTV was happy and proud to re-air the Series...and I joined here a few years later as a new TF fan.

I am probably one of, if not the, last person here to have seen Beast Wars.. I never saw the show on tv and had only heard of it from other transfans. When I was a kid we got cable (I didn't grow up in the US, only moved here later on in life) and there I would watch reruns of Generation 1 on a British channel called Sky-1.

Beast Wars I didn't watch before it came out on dvd in.. 2003 or 2004 was it? Not very long at all compared to most of you.

It seems I have forgotten to mention how I got into Beast wars. It was in 2006. I was crusing the hasbro site when I decided to, for the heck of it, look at the transformer's video page.(Beware that at the time, I thought that Transformers were dumb.) I then saw a series of videos labelled "Beast Wars" episodes 20-26. I then decided to watch one. Hooked very quickly. I then started to look around the internet for more information. I then found out that I had been watching shortened versions of the episodes. Thanks to Ultimateone, I was able to get up to date on all the episodes. It took me three to four months and one orchestra performence to tell my dad about Beast Wars. (My dad is usually more accepting than my mom and my sister) My dad was alright with it as well as the rest of my family when they were told, although my sister did get annoyed when I started collecting transformer toys a month or two ago. The only pieces of transformer's merchandise I've got is
  • Animated Blurr
    Animated Waspinator
    Animated Blitzwing
    ROTF Ravage
    ROTF Rampage
    ROTF Sideswipe
    ROTF Soundwave
the 1st season of Beast wars
I've been trying to acquire the other two seasons and the animated seasons, but paying for the above list and saving for a computer of my own doesn't help matters.(As for why I don't have my parents pay for it, We have one rule in our house with what you can buy. You want it, you have to be able to pay for it)

For me, when BW first came out I did not like the concept of robots turning into organic looking animals. By the time season 3 came out, I started watching BW on the weekends. When I saw how absolutely incredible this program is, I was hooked from then on. I went from disliking BW to liking it more than anything else on television. The following year, for an anniversary present, (my wife and I got married the year before) I asked her to get me an Optimal Optimus toy!

I am 23

I am 23.
And I am happy to see that I am not they only one over 20
It makes me feel more confident.

I never expected that so many people over 18 would still love Beast Wwars. That is nice.

Don't worry Starshadow, You're not the youngest. I'm only 14 after all.
And there's nothing wrong with being that young on here. All of us old folks were once that age.
I remember watching Beast Wars on channel 11, which would be for me the WB.
Yeah, you're right, tfsvoice! I remember! I had like two WB channels and two Fox channels. My cable has changed so much over the years now that I can't remember what the channels used to be. Aye. But I do know that I was lucky enough to catch the first episode when it aired. Splee! ...And then I was addicted to the show.
I remember BW briefly appearing on Fox 5. However, I did not like how Fox edited some of program out. I specifically remember in Fural Scream, the part where Dinobot 2 claws Depthcharge to the ground was edited out.
Yep, I remember that as well. Stupid Fox. So, wasn't BW aired on WB first? Because when it aired on Fox, isn't that when they release those new BW repaints that were exclusively labeled as Fox?
except for a brief period where episodes were on Cartoon network, then back to Fox in the afternoon.
I remember that, NK, and you could call in to try and win TransMetal 2 toys. That was cool. I wished they had kept airing the whole series on CN.
Yes, Beast Wars was on WB first or channel 11. I remember recording the episodes onto a couple of VHS tapes back in the 90's.

I was 20 when season 1 first aired, so I was more or less an adult then and I love BW just as much now!

Isn't it, though, Featherwing? I don't think I'll ever not like it. It's the best.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Because I was recording them as well. I can't remember when I started to, though. It might have been around the middle to the end of the first season. "Hey, this show rocks, maybe I should record it because it won't be on TV forever!" I think that was before I had any DVD's or even a DVD player. Were DVD's even out by 1996?

I don't think so. VHS recording were still big back then, I think. I could remember I had a VHS player without a recording button(so I couldn't tape the shows which made me mad when Fox took it off)

I can still remember all those times when I watched those episodes on a small, snowy tv when my dad pushed me off the big tv. Memories... :D

Yep, wow I didn't even realize that, honestly it doesn't even seem that long ago when I was watching it on tv then. I remember it pretty well. Whenever it came on I would have my mom record it on VHS lol. I actually still have the VHS that they were recorded on. But now I own it on DVD. Call me a loser but I can't even explain the excitement when I saw the DVD at the store. I bought it without hesitation.

And thanks everyone for the happy birthdays :D

Yes it was that long ago...we're not that far from the 15th Anniversary(Yippie!)I just hope that all TF Conventions in the world would remember to celebrate it(Unless more Movie Hype steals it away, damn you TF Movies!)
