Survival of the Fittest is awesome! (IMO)

It never really occured to me that Meltdown would be in it. Nice twist!
I really wish I would find out what Fanzone said he hated before he and Prowl began fighting. "Dibs on lefty, I hate ______." That's all I'm missing and it's driving me mad... madder... ugh! I have no word for my mental compancy anymore!

I loved the scene with the Quicksand!
Prowl: Watch the quicksand.
Bulkhead: I know, you gotta have a glitch to fall for that.
Fanzone: Help!

That was so bad.

So, any predictions on what will happen in next weeks episode: Headmaster?

Finally! An episode about Prowl! I AM SO HAPPY! and I finally found out Sari's age too and the Dinobots return.
Wicked Woman, Fanzone said he hates Lion. Are those things a nod to Knoble from Beast Machines?
Fanzone being chased by a falling log was Hilarious!
The Dinobot's are awesome by the way. I love their fire weapons. This is definatly one of my favorite episodes. and Sari gets to keep the key a little longer because she CAN use it responsiblely.
Also. PROWL IS SUCH A NICE GUY! He'sa so sweet! lol. h was so nice to the Dinobots.

Review for Survival of The Fittest

Characters

Focused on Prowl and Bulkhead about the Dinobots and their concern on Sari.I barely seen any development on them besides being concerned on Sari and duking it out with the Dinobots.Nothing new.

Sari can take care of herself since Episode 1 and we saw her trying to escape usuing her kid-like charm and the Key.

Grimlock wa the only Dinobot talking in this Episode, and I have to say to the writers why didn't you develop his chracter. What bothered me was that David Kaye seemed to be strgguling keeping the Grimlock voice in.

The only developed character out of all of them is the captain, seeing how it is okay to work with a machine, especailly since he fought alongside Prowl. If more of these encounters happen between him and the Autobots, then most likey we can see him helping them with the Decepticon battle in the Season Finale. One thing that bothered me though,I have a strong belief that 'This is why I hate machines!'is his catch-phrase.

Prometheus comes back more insane that ever, but is still a generic villian.

I wish we had more screentime on the Pretenders.

Storyline

We first start off with Sari and the Autobots;Prowl teaching Sari how to do self-defence.Afterwards she is kidnapped by one of the Dinobots and Sumdac found her missing in her room. The Autobots look for her while the captain investigates.Prowl and Bulkhead search in Dinobot Island and battle with them, wondering why they are against them. The captain reaches to the scene after following Prowl and Bulkhead, only to end up trapped in an underground facility with Prowl, while Bulhead fights alone and is injured.Prometheus(Meltdown)comes back, explaining that he was experimenting on shape-shifted and abused to Dinobots for his personal gain and to kidnap Sari and experiment on her,for revenge.Prowl and the captain battle with the Pretenders and escape to find Sari.Sari escapes from the Old Man(See Total Meltdown),who was watching her,and eventually meets up with Prowl. They fight the Dinobots and the Pretenders, only resulting that the Dinobots betray Meltdown, transformed and killed the Pretenders and captured Meltdown and ends up in jail. The heroes return to Detriot, only agreeing never to teach Sari anymore ninja skills.

This Episode is a letdown, but was the first to show all the Dinobots transformed, which I really like.Prowl and Bulkhead realize that Sari can do things on her own and it is best for her to keep the Key.As for the Dinobots, they will stay on the island, and the twist is that it was an abandoned reseatch facility.Meltdown coming back again wasn't really necessary, since we saw him before, already developed, and was tossed out.The battles scenes were interesting, and I finally accepted the fact that Sari is the most helpful human companion since G1(Or the Unicron Trilogy, but I never watched it).Well I hope for better Episodes to come.

Quirks

The battle of the faces between the old man and Sari are amusing to see.

If this is futuristic Detroit, why in the Hell did the captain had to carry that 80's style phone? That makes no sense!

My review:

Negatives:
- Sorta silly that they were teaching Sari karate. Even if she became a master at it, it's not gonna help a wit against Decepticons.
- Snarl and Swoop still don't talk! I hope they can...
- Not as much Dinobots as I was expecting.
- If that long fall from the trapdoor was enough to mess with Prowl's optics, why wasn't Fanzone hurt?
- How the heck are Meltdown and his steroidy friend (forget his name) still just walking around? There wasn't an "escape from prison" or anything mentioned... what, did they just let him go with a warning last time?
- I have a hard time believing the Dinobots could be tamed by Meltdown. Hello, they have FIRE BREATH. One puff and there goes Meltdown.

Positives:
- Good fight choreography, as always.
- Excellent dialogue, even for this series. There were several good quotables. Sari's "I gotta go potty" and the subsequent lines were absolutely hilarious.
- Although he's still a rather stereotypical villain, Meltdown seemed to have things much more planned out this time. He's growing on me.
- Sari also was back to being believable again, as opposed to the last 3 or so episodes where she was just mind-numbingly stupid.
- Fanzone is also quickly growing on me. Originally I was getting tired of him being a one-gimmick character, but having him sorta co-star in this ep really made me like him a lot more. "Do I look like a TECHNOPHOBE TO YOU!?"
- Bomb-Burst and Submarauder! Eeeeee!
- Dinobots transforming= teh awesum.
- How Sari beat the steroid-pumping guy was pretty hilarious, even though I saw it coming.

An entertaining episode, but with a few niggling plot holes. And not enough Dinobots. B+.

Yep, and so are Ultra Magnus (one of the bots behind Sentinel) and possibly Jazz (?)

I believe the scene with Sentinel and Prime at 0:22 will be in the episode The Return of Headmaster.

So... anyone else seen Headmaster? That was an ok episode. not as good as the past three weeks but still pretty good. Can't really think of any quotes other than Bulkhead's question: "who's Art?"

oh joy. ANOTHER episode about Bulkhead and another appearence of Danial Witwicky. No offense but that kid is just as annoying in this show as he is in G1. I hope I never see him again. Anybody notice that Headmaster sounds like Control Freak from the Teen Titans? and more crazy chinned villains!
lol using Bulkheads head as a bolling ball is a pretty good idea. I hope somebody makes a fanart of that.
That's about all I can say really. This weeks episode was kinda boring and a bit of a let down. :(

THAT PROMO COMERCIAL IS A BIG LIAR! I was expecting to see Jazz but noo.. what episode is that and when is it gonna happen? Next week? I hope so. I want to see jazz! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!

WW
Ah,Season II Spoilers.

There was another commercial I saw Friday morning, and was the scene where Sentinel Prime's head was rolling around.

YTV Voice Guy:This is Sentinel Prime
Sentinel:Help me Prime
Voice Guy:He can put his head back on
*Prime places his head on a plant and leaves*
Voice Guy:But you can't.So play safe.
Sentinel:Prime!Prime!

This commercial was based on a reference that YTV watchers knew in the 90s.Long ago,YTV put up this War Amps commercial about the robot who tells us about safety. In all my years of YTV,they are the only station that still puts this commercial, the last seen was around 2003.

Review time

Headmaster

Characters

This is a Bulkhead-focused Episode as he wanted to explore the side of him that does not involve smashing things.Okay,we get to see a fair amount of character development from him through his art.

The villian of the week is Henry Masterson(Joke#1)a genius that was supposed to work with Sumdac and created the Headmaster techonlogy, and, wanted to use it as military weaponary, but due to his mishpas,he got fired and became a villian, dressed like a rip-off of Galactus(Joke#2).What I saw here is your tipical generic villain, who had worse development ever, and he used too much slang, although some had good laughing time.

Nothing really happens to the other characters, except we seen a humourous and sardonic BumbleBee.

Storyline

It starts with Henry, wanting to use Sumdac's technology for military purposes, but since Issac beleieves using his creations in a peaceful manner,Henry gets fired after a mishap form his Headmaster experiement.Bent on revenge,Henry finds Bulkhead from a media report on how he handled a rocket(From the Headmaster experiment)from hitting downtown Detriot, causing destruction around him.Bulkhead being depressed by bad media,he takes Sari's suggesstion of taking art. After Sari tells him that his work was going to be put up in a gallery in a few days,a scared Bulkhead leaves in the middle of the night.Henry catches him, puts him in stasis lock, and took his body, leaving his head on the street. The Autobots reover him and started looking for the rest of him, except for BumbleBee,who helped him with his art, much to Bulkhead's dismay. After putting him in another robot body, much smaller than his original one(Joke#3),he starts feeling and knowing what his original body is doing. The Autobots meanwhile found Henry, using Bulkhead's body through a head from the Headmaster experiment. They lead one another to a solar power plant with a core, threatening to destroy the state of Michagan.A fight scene happens,Bulkhead and BumbleBee came to the rescue, and retrieved the head, and ended up with a mission to stop the core form overheating. The solved it by creating an aware robot and sacrificed itself to cool the core. The robot was then used in Bulkhead's art gallery, which is where the story ends.

This Episode was not as bad as last week, mainly because it supplied me with humour between Bulkhead and BumbleBee,not to mention how many times Henry used the word 'owned'.There were a lot of refences used, such as Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots.I don't know much about the Headmasters,so I can't really say on what I thought about it.What I noticed is that there was a scne where Fanzone and the Autobots worked together, and I was proud of that, knowing that there was going to be a bonding friendship between the police and the Autobots, whcih will be vital in important Episodes.

This Episode was the least involvment of Sari's Key,but was used to make a robot aware of what it has to do in the end.I felt kind of bad that they used that robot for that one moment where it sacrificed itself to save the state, but, better than Prime doing it.

I started thinking back to the writing style of this Series.Although this was written by the guy who did Beast Machines and also the 4Kids version of TMNT,I was expecting more than a Teen Titans-style story, but then again this is Season One.I hope there would be better development around Season Two.

Quirks

Already stated.

And now for my review of 'Nature Calls'

The first words I heard in this Episode was 'Character buliding, and yes,I was foolish to believe that.

Charcters

Both BumbleBee and Prowl focused Episode

BumbleBee represented what our genertaion is like, dependant of technology,as he constantly complained on why he couldn't bring his stuff with him(Not to mention a part where he couldn't plug the stuff he wasnted to use)

Prowl is back in his love of nature deal.Okay, that was good in that early Episode(Forgot what it's called)but we don't see anything else after that.

I beleived Sari got the most chracter development,as she tries to save her friends through her quick-thinking.Once again she proed that shecould take care of herself, and, provided insight to Prowl and BB that nature and technology must work together(I hop I wasn't the only one that thought it was some Beast Machines reference)

Storyline

Our villian of the week is space barnicles. My first thought was 'are you serious?'.Anywya,Prowl,BumbleBee,and Sri travel to the mountainsidde for a camping trip. The barnicles fused with Cybertronian residue and was formed into a creepy-looking bear without a head and has a good amount of red eyes.IOt wasn't until the middle of the Episode that Prowl becomes infected.BumbleBee and Sari ran around to a mine that Sumdac was using recently(For reasons we still don't know yet)and locked Prowl inside(Stupidly, they trapped themselves inside too)It was up to Sari alone, seeing that BB was also infected. She used her Key and a fire hose to create hot water, heat being the banicles weakness. They went back to normal,Sari got sick, and went back to Detroit.

This better be considered as the last filler Episode, because it was rather disappointing to see brief chracter development from Prowl and BumbleBee.The space banicles thingwas lamer than,I don't know, the majority of villians were kind of lame too.The gret part was the ending, where Sumdac found an item with a Decepticon symbol, and was delighted to show it to Megatron. We are going back to Decepticon Episdoes, and now,I can not wait to see what Megatron and Starscream has in store for one another.

Now,Sari's Key had another ability, which was to detect anything that was Cybertronian. We seen this a couple of times, but this is the first timeI see it act as a signal/searchlight.I wqondered if there are more abilities hidden in store for that Key.We barley see any new abilities for it when near the Allspark, besides resurrectin dead Transformers. Also,we see another limit for the Key,it has to have a certain socket in order to activate machinery, however, just one flick of they Key in the place Sari wanted to use,it was activated. So,even by a little, the Key can do alot of things fo her.

Quirks'

On that scene where Prowl,BumbleBee,and Sari are prepared to fight,BB called out the monster...very funny.

Prowl still owes BB a media player.

That episode creeped me out. I will admit the whole "space barnicles" deal was kind of lame I was hoping for some other kind of deal. I felt so bad for prowl when he got infected though the parts afterward with him constantly getting pwned made me laugh. mining car in the face anyone? A better episode than last week. Headmaster was just lame. prowl liking winter was unexpected I HATE winter but he can't feel the cold anyway so it doesn't bother him. The end of the episode seemed to be forshadowing for next week. Maybe now Megatron will FINALY get his slagging body back!
anyway one of my favorite quotes for this week. "Gee, Prowl, I didn't know bears had SHOVELS for hands. I guess I did learn something camping." that line just cracked me up!

This episode was great. Not up there with Along Came a Spider, Thrill of the Hunt and Survival of the Fitest but it's still great if you don't compare it.

Anyone else get that horror movie vibe while watching this? And the forshadowing makes this an important filler. Makes me more exicted about next week's ep. And rumor has it that some season two episodes will air in April:

FanTransformers | March 20, 2008
The Elite Guard is coming up in a few weeks, not second season!!
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2008
CARTOON NETWORK: TRANSFORMERS: ANIMATED EPISODES FOR APRIL
All episodes are scheduled to air at 10:30 a.m. (PT/ET). Schedule subject to change.
"MEGATRON, RISING PT. 2" on Saturday, April 5
The Autobots are decimated by the Decepticon invasion, but still must rally to prevent the AllSpark from falling into their clutches.
"THE ELITE GUARD" on Saturday, April 12
The Cybertron Elite Guard arrives on Earth to retrieve the AllSpark and relieve Prime and his crew of their post, but they prove less than adept at blending in with the human world.
"THE RETURN OF THE HEADMASTER" on Saturday, April 26
Optimus Prime is forced to team up with his rival Sentinel Prime after Sentinel has a humiliating -- and potentially fatal encounter with the Headmaster.

This is from FanTransformers on Youtube. Maybe it's true, maybe not. We'll see come April 12.

P.S. Fave Quotes: 1) "I really hope he doesn't remember that when he turns back to normal."
2) "Bath time Kiddies!" (ok, so this one's a little lame)

It's true, TFW2005 and other reputable sources have confirmed Animated is going to go right into Season 2 in April.

Anyways, I thought this one was the weakest episode of the series so far. It just dragged, and... space barnacles? The "fire hose" bit was HILARIOUS, though.
