An awesome year for movies

Unread post by SilverfromOZ »

Wow. We have been spoiled this year haven't we?
Spidey 3
Pirates 3
Transformers

I'm sure there's more that I can't think of right now but thats fine, I'll leave additions to you guys.

Personally Pirates was the bees knees for me thus far. Awesome, brilliant, loved it. I want to know who enjoyed the blockbusters this year and which ones disappointed you.
It's ok sir. I'll be fine...

I loved Spiderman 3, my sister won't shut up about Pirates 3 (gonna have to try and see it sometime after next week) and I won't shut up about the Transformers movie. I know several people who don't like TF and are psyched for the movie. (and that's saying something)

Also (for me) Saw 4 will be in Theaters in October and I've seen Shrek 3 (awsome btw). So yeah, I've been spoiled too. ^^

I've only seen Shrek 3 and Ghost Rider at the theater this year-- I'm not a big movie person. Shrek 3 was funny, but not as good as the first two, Ghost Rider was nice, but not enough fighting. Not interested in Spiderman 3, as I haven't liked either of the previous two in the least, and Pirates 2 was hopelessly convoluted for me. Really, Transformers is the only other movie I'm going to see in theaters in the foreseeable future.

Yeah Pirates 2 was a little disappointing for me because it tried to do too much. Fortunately, number three returns to its roots and pulls off ridiculous things with such class.. it's Jack Sparrow what else would you expect?

Spidey 3 was cool, however Venom was not explored deeply enough. Still cool nonetheless and I'm sure everyone was touched with the Sandman story.

Shrek 3 has not appeared in this end of the world and I managed to score Ghost Rider whilst I was in Cleveland. That was a whole bunch of fun because it didn't try to be anything more than it was.

The other all important one for this year that I can't believe I forgot. SPARTANS!!! Yes, 300 screaming madmen. Brilliant quotes (which I may utilise whilst waiting in line for Botcon) which can be yelled in public (well maybe whilst drunk... and maybe the phalanx, which you think is a cool symmetrical structure of you and your mates, actually ends up with one guy standing in the street yelling, nother hanging from a tree and another face down in a garbage bin, however nonetheless all good fun!).

Saw 4?!!! Sweeet. I loved all previous three and am very curious to see where the fourth goes. Very good twisty, windy stories.

Alas poor Jagna. Well at least you get to see TF in another country. That will rock :D

And I completely relate to the people not interested in TF being psyched about the film. Its a very HA! SEE! I TOLD YOU IT WAS AWESOME! moment for dedicated people like us. :D
It's ok sir. I'll be fine...

D00d, owing to the awesomeness of that costume, you are my new god... Which sounds really complimentary at first, but you have to keep in mind that the last one was a 10, 000 foot squid. Really. There's a whole mythology behind that, involving the videogame Indigo Prophecies, the psychedelic qualities of squidmilk, and the fact that my friends and I are all complete freaks.

Likewise, I must see POTC3 this weekend or perish in a murk of pirate withdrawl!

#glows with the power of awesome before some stray squidmilk connects with eyes bringing Silver crashing to the ground# GAAHH!! It burns!!

I eagerly anticipate the complete explaination of aforementioned mythos. I require gestures, diagrams and a conclusion involving some type of interpretive dance.

YES! Go and see the awesomeness and enjoy. although if ye cannae then fear not for we will drag you out to the cinemas in London and you will be educated further in Pirate Law. :D

Glad you enjoyed the costume. I loved tearing around in character. Really. I got the prancing about and accent (which is pretty much drunken Aussie, not that I'd know anything about that  ) sorted which made me the most popular of the four Jack Sparrows on display. On George St alone I was stopped about 7 or 8 times for photos with random landluvvers and the another half dozen within the theatre itself. However the most entertaining was leaping out of the elevator with a "HAARGH!" which scared the couple waiting for said elevator. This was expertly followed up with a flourish, a cheeky grin and a "Couldn't resist mate."

Let's not forget Rush Hour 3, or FF4#2. Man I love Rush Hour. Fantastic Four? Not so much.

Pirates 3 was okay, the first one takes the cake when it comes to the PotC movies. I haven't seen 300, and Spider-Man 3 was cool, but not as cool as SM2.

Will go over the movies later. *yawn* *thinks*

#Silver tiptoes up and recalibrates the shield to be a waffle ATTRACTING shield#

Oh I have a HUGE bone to pick with FF4 2. Don't get me wrong. The movie looks like a whole bunch of fun and I'll most likely end up seeing it with crazy friends. Now for the point. The preview begins with a flaming ball of something rocketing through space towards earth. SOUND FAMILIAR?! Yes that's right. Just before Pirates started there was this preview which started exactly like that and I had been chating "please Transformers" and when I saw that I punched my fist in the air yelling "Yes! Yes! YES!" then it quickly changed when I realised my error to "NO! No! Blast!" Plus side all my mates had a good chuckle and I snapped back into my Jack Sparrow mode, carrying on regardless.

I would agree with you on the awsomeness of a new saw movie as I am a hardcore Saw junkie...but the original writers left so I think it's gonna bomb. But as for me, Transformers of course is the big one, hostel part two, spiderman 3....lot's of good ones :-)

MOVIES! XD

I saw Shrek 3 and agree with some of you that it was awesomely hilarious and I loved it. The credits were fun too with Donkey and Puss-in-Boots.

I liked Spiderman 3. I was never into the cartoon that much, not more than X-Men anyway, but I've been enjoying the movies so I thought the third was pretty good.

Pirates 3 was awesome. I loved it. I thought they dragged out a little too much with Jack on Davey Jones Locker but the rest was great. I loved the battle between the Dutchman and the Black Pearl. Did anyone catch the little scene at the end of the credits? It wasn't much but it kind of felt like it was cealing the pirate saga.

There's going to be a Saw IV? Hm. I was kind of hoping they'd stop after the third one. I'm a bit skeptical about that. :?

Rush Hour 3 might be cool. It's Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, right? Those two crack me up. Maybe I'll see that.

Aside from the TFs movie, which I know I'll end up seeing twice (once at the BotCon and then again with friends when I get home), I also want to see the Simpsons movie. I love that show and would not miss seeing it on the big screen.

300 was all right. The action, photography, editting and strategy that the characters used was great but I thought the story was a little weak. It wasn't as intellectual, but I still enjoyed it.

Ghost Rider wasn't as good as I was hoping it would've been. The special effects were absolutely awesome but the plot was weak and some of the acting wasn't too great.

Wild Hogs was a fun movie. I saw it for the very interesting cast it had: Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence, John Travolta and William H. Macey. And for the motorcycles and comedy of course.

Reno 911!:Miami was hilarious but much, much dirtier than the show. They're so dumb but I love it.

That's all I can think of right now. I'm a big movie goer.
