New RPG

I have a question for all Transformers fans. DA member charade539 and I are starting our very own Transformers RPG on a website called avidgamers.com. Now, Avidgamers is far different than say proboards, but good lord, it is so easy, so please, don't let the new website daunt you. Anyhoo, it's based on Cybertron, at a bar called the Crash Site. In me and Rade's IM RPs, she and Landray DC own and manage a bar (sounds stupid, I know, but it's really cool xD) in one of the districts of Cybertron. The RP wouldn't be JUST the bar, but in fact it would center in that particular area as well -- there is a darker neighborhood nearby for shady characters and Predacons, as well as several things to do inside the bar. Would anybody be interested in playing?

The RPG as a whole is about 80% finished, and several players have already started to RP. Charade and I are just mulling over a few more boards to add, but it's otherwise ready for action. Oh, and it has a really great front picture. x3 Check it out here!

woaaa...tht looks cool, cant wait to c what it looks like when its done, LDC!

but tell me coz iv never fully understood...what is RPG?!

i sometimes never know what you guys are talking about when u use vague and transparent accronyms...i just have to guess. is it something to do with games?...heh

RPG stands for Role Playing Game.

For what LDC and Rade and I do, that's basically playing a character in a storyline that has either been pre-thought out, or just played on the fly, with, for example, one of my characters is bopping around in my brain, wanting to "play," or be used in an RP (Role-Play) with another character, and if I'm fortunate, then one of Rade's, LDC's, Omie's, or whoever's characters is able to play against my character.

Thing is, it looks like the only two places to roleplay are the Shaft and the bar....

MD, there are technically 5 places to RP at the boards, not counting the General Chat and Character Profile boards. There's all kinds of places to run around in, trust me.

Crab, you'll get an email with your password after one of the Board Owners accepts your character. Then you're free to go!

Jagna, an RPG is like Sinead said, a Role Playing Game. It's like telling a story, only that story isn't being told by just one person-- Other people are creating the story too. But there is a catch: You can only tell part of the story with a character. You control him/her, but then after you have them say something you have to wait until another person's character reacts to you before you can keep telling the story.

^^; I hope that makes sense... it's easier to show you rather than tell....

Well, yes, there's more than those two... there's the owner's dwelling place, a jail, and extra rooms to the bar.

Maeglin Dubh; I hope you'll decide to sign up, but no offense, I'm not exactly begging for you to play. If you don't like the RP, you don't have to play. I apologize profusely if I sound snappy, but you "sounded" very condescending towards an RPG that I worked hard to create, and I do not appreciate that. Perhaps it is just me after a hard day at work taking it wrong. Either way, play, or don't play, it's of little consequence to me.

Sorry, that's not what I intended at all....
I like RP and all. I was just working myself around to liking the idea of a Beast Wars RP centered around a dining establishment. It just sounded strange to me... I wondered where the good guys would go when they weren't hungry. But like you said, it's not finished, and I can tell you have worked very hard at it: it's one of the better AG sites I've seen.

"I'll consider it" != "Maybe I'll play in your little game if you ask nice"
"I'll consider it" = "Hm. Looks interesting, but I'm fairly busy, and a little confused at the premise. But I'll consider it."

So I'll wait a bit, get my classes organized, see how things go. I'll definitely keep an eye on it.

It's not necessarily a Beast Wars RPG at all. It's actually Cybetronian more than anything, post-Beast Wars in the era of Maximals and Predacons during a spit of peace between the two factions.

In any case, I again apologize for misunderstanding. Myself and the other site Admin are mulling over new boards and new places to play at this very moment, so here's to hoping that soon we might have a few more things to do. The RPG is more or less based on character-character interaction though, rather than a plot, which is why this RP is a bit different. I like it because you can post someplace whenever you want to and anyone can reply and start up a game.

I do hope you'll join, even if it's not very.."varying" at the moment. We're working on it between college and work and ..sleep. x_x I need more sleep.
