Hangar's G1&G2 Int'l Conference Singles Tourney: Open!

Unread post by Outtsyder »

And now, shortly after the conclusion of the space-faring clashes from the Cybertron Conference, this time we take it up one more notch. Instead of different planets, we are treated to confrontations from different series – and from different continents – combined into one! Drawing on characters from Japan, Europe, and elsewhere, this is the beginning of Conference #7 of the TF Combat Tournament… the Generation 1 & 2 International Conference! Imagine a mix of characters from the old Japanese-exclusive series from “Headmasters” to “Zone”, with a contingent from some of the best from Europe, and some selections from Generation 2. Well, ’Bots ’n’ ’Cons… this is what you’re getting this time. This week, we begin with the opening round match-ups of the Generation 1 & 2 International Singles Tournament, while next week will give the Round 1 Tag Team match-ups as well as the results of the G1& G2 Int’l Singles' first round.

As with the previous tournaments, the rules are simple: the eight match-ups are provided, and you, the membership, get to vote for the winner of all eight fights. Capsule profiles of each participant are provided, and you pick who'd more realistically win their matches. For those of you who may not be familiar with the characters in this Conference, a link to a visual aid has been provided for each one. (Important note: The key word is "realistically". Please be objective and without bias in choosing the winning participants in each match, and base your pick on the profiles given or their portrayals in the shows; not from non-canon sources such as fan-fiction re-interpretations.) A victory in each hypothetical battle can be gained by forcing the opponent to surrender, or rendering them unable to continue after a 15-second down period. Outright destruction is not necessary to win, but a very likely possibility. And given the possibilities of the tournament votes, it is possible for opponents of the same allegiance to fight each other in future rounds.

In the event that the outcome of a fight's vote total is a tie, both combatants will be eliminated, allowing a bye for their would-be opponent into the next round. If the tournament final's vote becomes a tie, a re-vote will be opened; there must be a championship winner.

And now, here are the opening-round match-ups for the G1&G2 Int’l Conference Singles Tournament:

Match 1: Twincast (Japan) vs. Deathsaurus (Japan)

Twincast (Cybertron) – From Headmasters, the rebuilt form of the Autobot Communicator Blaster, now in a stronger new body. Action-oriented and hard-driven; still aims to be at the forefront of any situation, and turns up everything LOUD. Transforms into a portable stereo system with boosted signal detectors at all frequencies. Physical strength has been improved in robot mode with surprising maneuverability; uses an electro-scrambler rifle that disrupts systems of electronic targets. In both modes, can also produce ultra-sonic waves from speakers at variable power outputs; capable of almost anything from disrupting an opponent’s hearing to crumbling a building. Lacks speed in robot mode; sufficient heavy shielding can protect against electro-scrambler rifle’s attacks.

http://www.agesthreeandup.com/sites/age ... 309137.jpg

Deathsaurus (Destron) – The Destron Commander from the Victory series, among the largest, most powerful and fearsome of the Destrons of any generation. Shows absolutely no remorse or concern for the life of an opponent, and will use any method possible to win. Transforms into a bird-like dragon, his stronger mode, capable of long-range flight. In robot mode, armed with high-yield energy weapons, barbed mace, scimitar, and detachable blade wings that act as razor boomerangs. Also has two detachable chestplate armor units that individually transform each into a robotic tiger and an eagle; both partners also transform into smaller hand-held weapons. Has a last-resort attack, the Death Wing, which absorbs sunlight through wing-blades and converts it into lethal, metal-corroding “dark energy”. Death Wing attack can drain his own power; arrogance can make him careless and underestimate a foe.

Match 2: Ginrai (Japan) vs. Overlord (Japan)

Ginrai (Cybertron) – Supreme Commander of the Cybertrons from the Masterforce era; built from a “spare” body shell intended for Optimus Prime, but is entirely controlled by a human in a transforming Godmaster (Powermaster) exo-suit. Normally quiet and intellectual, but can be stirred into action during a battle. Human component Ginrai uses exo-suit to transform into an engine-shaped power console, which unlocks the larger, non-sentient Transtector body’s transformation to robot mode. Vehicle mode is an armored semi-tractor trailer armed with two laser cannon rifles and two dual cannons. Standard robot mode has impressive strength and uses cannon rifles, while trailer transforms into a field command station. Can combine with trailer/base to form Super Ginrai’s super-robot mode, multiplying his strength, armor, and firepower; also uses martial-arts attacks in both robot modes. Human component on his own is by far most vulnerable to damage; if incapacitated, the rest of the body may be helpless.

http://www.tfu.info/1988/Cybertron/Supe ... ginrai.htm

Overlord (Destron) – The massive and towering “Destron Ambassador Of Destruction”, from Masterforce. While lacking sentience on his own (larger body components are Transtectors), is incredibly powerful and fueled by two Godmaster humanoid components; a husband-and-wife duo named Giga and Mega. Splits into two separate vehicle modes; a heavily-armored blaster cannon tank controlled by Lord Giga, and an SR-71-styled stealth jet controlled by Lady Mega. Both vehicles recombine to transform into either a robot mode, or a powerful fortress mode armed with turret cannons, automatic guns, missile launchers, and targeting radar scanners. Base mode is equipped with an internal arms factory that can theoretically produce additional weaponry and ammunition indefinitely. Massive size and thick armor make him difficult to damage, but can be outsmarted due to lack of sentience if Mega and Giga’s control over the body is weakened; robot mode is especially slow.

http://www.tfu.info/1988/Destron/Overlord/overlord.htm

Match 3: Dai Atlas (Japan) vs. Soundblaster (Japan)

Dai Atlas (Cybertron) – Succeeded Victory Saber as Leader of the Cybertrons in Zone, and is a four-mode Powered Master Transformer; alternate modes are jet fighter, drill tank, and Micromaster-scale battle base. Strong sense of duty to his mission, dedicated to the preservation of life in the universe. Stationary base mode fires single- and double-barreled blaster guns; radar scanners detect and track targets for more accurate aim. Jet fighter mode reaches supersonic speeds and can escape atmospheric limits. Drill tank mode uses a frontal drill bit that penetrates through most substances; hull is resistant to most damage, and uses base mode’s weapons, as well as massive twin side-mounted cannons. Robot mode exhibits great strength and tank treads in legs add to ground maneuverability; can detach wings which refashion themselves into a Zone Sword for melee combat. Weaknesses are unknown.

http://www.tfu.info/1990/Cybertron/DaiA ... iatlas.htm

Soundblaster (Destron) – Rebuilt from the remains of his old G1 Soundwave body in Headmasters; now with a new dark paintjob and even greater power than in his old self. Still an expert in communications, master of all things related to sound, and improved warrior. Physically very strong but slow; exhibits even better intelligence than before. Alt-mode of a cassette player may seem ineffective in battle; but in both modes, can summon a variety of varied-volume sonic-based attacks – from audio disruptor waves to sonic booms – disorienting opponents and compensating for average firepower. Still capable of reading electrical impulses of any electronic device, including the brain of a living being, which can gain information on his opponent's damage.

http://www.tfu.info/1987/Destron/Soundb ... laster.htm

Match 4: Stepper (Japan) vs. Leozak (Japan)

Stepper (Cybertron) – From the Headmasters series; has a strong sense of justice and unbelievable shooting skills, but a gruff no-nonsense attitude and an easily-provoked temper. Perhaps the best sharpshooter of any Autobot/Cybertron, capable of striking targets at almost impossible distances. Transforms into a black streamlined Porsche 926 race car that almost reaches Mach 1; can adapt a variety of weapons (including Targetmaster partner) on rear spoiler for armament. Partnered with Targetmaster Nebulon, which transforms into a rapid-fire shell cannon; also uses a photon rifle and a shoulder-mounted missile launcher. Versatility of arsenal is his strongest asset; is also a capable hand-to-hand fighter, though not his forte.

http://www.tfu.info/1987/Cybertron/Stepper/stepper.htm

Leozak (Destron) – Lieutenant to Deathsaurus, and a treacherous and incredibly-skilled aerial fighter. Brutal, ruthless, and rebellious; seeks a higher position among the Destrons’ command chain. Transforms into an F-14 Tomcat-like jet fighter, capable of traveling super-sonic speeds and unleashing salvos of blanket-destruction ammunition. Has great strength in robot mode and a variety of combat tactics; chestplate armor segment detaches and transforms into both a lion-like battle drone and a “Leo Cannon” to enhance firepower. Combat effectiveness is enhanced by his total lack of compassion, but may sometimes overestimate his own abilities.

http://www.tfu.info/1989/Destron/Leozak/leozack.htm

Match 5: Star Saber (Japan) vs. Jhiaxus (G2)

Star Saber (Cybertron) – From the Planet V, the greatest Cybertronian swordsman in the galaxy, as legend would have it. Also the Cybertron Supreme Commander in the Victory series, and an enforcer of justice in a Brainmaster body. Smaller robot body, simply named Saber, transforms into a small jet and merges with the larger outer-body hull to form a hypersonic jet. Full-sized robot mode has incredible strength and courage; primary weapon is his Saber Blade sword, which can slice through almost any armor of almost any thickness. Finishing attack harnesses the energy of his surroundings to channel a highly-destructive blast of energy from the Saber Blade. While extremely well-versed in the art of sword-fighting, may be outclassed in a firefight; compassion for life can be exploited.

http://www.tfu.info/1989/Cybertron/Star ... rsaber.htm

Jhiaxus (Decepticon) – Cybertronian Warlord from Generation 2; self-controlled yet callous Leader of the expanding Cybertronian Empire. Among the first of the “latter-generation Decepticons” that abandoned the “old” concepts of Autobot and Decepticon factions… and also attempted to leave behind his old past as a sadistic tyrant. Transforms into a slow-flying Cybertronian bomber jet with high resistance to anti-aircraft fire; armed with large-caliber cannons and a tailfin-mounted gun. Robot mode is extremely strong and thick armor can shrug off most weapon-based and non-armed combat attacks; can use blasters in robot mode, but has enough physical strength to destroy a similar-sized opponent with his bare hands. Has very few physical weaknesses, but his attempts to ignore his distant cruel past with his current calculating personality can be triggered by an unexpected memory, briefly disorienting him and leaving him vulnerable until he regains his focus.

http://s90690880.onlinehome.us/jhiaxus/ ... hiaxus.htm

Match 6: Metalhawk (Japan) vs. Skyquake (Europe)

Metalhawk (Cybertron) – Aerospace Commander of the Pretender Cybertrons, from the Masterforce series. Courageous, daring, and wise; further enhanced by a protective Pretender shell. Armored human-like Pretender shell splits to reveal inner robot; shell can re-assemble and be controlled by inner robot via mental command. Inner robot transforms into a hypersonic jet that can escape atmospheric limits; has almost endless endurance. Armed with dual tail-fin guns, a large blaster rifle and a Titanium Saber. Finishing maneuver – called the Shining Arrow – generates an overheard arrow-shaped bolt of high-intensity light energy, cast like a light-bolt sword to land-bound targets. Injury or damage to the Pretender shell is felt by the inner robot, even when separated.

http://www.tfu.info/1988/Cybertron/Meta ... alhawk.htm

Skyquake (Decepticon) – Powerful latter-day Air Commandant in charge of the Decepticons’ Predators subgroup. Has a pathological hatred for even the slightest hint of good, but is also a rational, calculating thinker that allows him to plan clearly for his destructive attacks. Transforms into a modified bomber jet with great speed and endurance; equipped with a fuselage-mounted targeting scope and a heavy payload of missiles and bombs. Exhibits great strength and durability in robot mode, and uses a compact hand-held missile launcher. A genius dedicated to wide-scale destruction, though may be prone to occasional improvisational counter-maneuvers.

http://www.tfu.info/1992/Decepticon/Sky ... yquake.htm

Match 7: Thunderclash (Europe) vs. Black Zarak (Japan)

Thunderclash (Autobot) – Commander-In-Chief of the Turbomaster Autobots, and the most powerful of the subgroup. Physical power is matched by his intuitive skills during warfare, allowing anticipation of an opponent’s next move. Transforms into a heavily armored semi-tractor trailer equipped with roof-mounted missile launchers and a rear-mounted targeting scanner. Robot mode is incredibly strong and resistant to damage; uses a hand-held blaster gun as primary weapon. Trailer unfolds to form a battle station with long-range targeting scanner, dual missile launchers, and central laser cannon. Few combat-related weaknesses are known.

http://www.tfu.info/1992/Autobot/Thunde ... rclash.htm

Black Zarak (Destron) – The Destrons’ Dark Emperor of the Masterforce series; the original Scorponok reborn in a newer, more powerful body. Still a Triple Changer and retains his (non-organic) Headmaster partner Zarak, but new body with built-on head eliminates need to connect in traditional Headmaster fashion. In defense base mode, equipped with target-tracking scanners and construction bays, and heavily armed with a variety of weaponry, including four dual blaster cannons. Scorpion mode uses giant pincers with incredible crushing power; tail stinger fires high-voltage blasts of electricity. Giant robot mode has dual blaster cannons mounted on shoulder modules; also uses a giant hand-held blaster rifle and a Zarak Spear for melee combat; ultra-dense armor is highly resistant to most damage in all modes. Slightly smaller size in new body adds extra mobility; desire for greater power may lead him to overlook minor details an opponent can exploit.

http://www.toyarchive.com/Transformers/ ... Zarak.html

Match 8: Rotorstorm (Europe) vs. Browning (Japan)

Rotorstorm (Autobot) – The only airborne member of the Turbomaster team, and an unexpectedly brutal warrior for an Autobot. A brilliant and fearless strategist, gaining surprising respect from Decepticons as an effective warrior. Transforms into a jet-propelled helicopter with blinding speed and maneuverability; equipped with a large payload of concussion missiles. Robot mode is very strong; has two hand-held missile launchers as primary weapons. Uses an advanced array of signal tracing devices to pick up transmissions, and has a sixth-sense-like ability to anticipate an opponents’ next move. Very difficult to defend against due to power, intelligence, and prediction skills; rotor blades in helicopter mode make a clear target.

http://www.tfu.info/1992/Autobot/Rotors ... rstorm.htm

Browning (Destron) – A Destron gunman from Masterforce… and extremely tiny. One of the smallest Transformers from any series, but packs deceiving power in his minuscule body. Transforms into a small Browning M1910 pistol capable of firing a deadly “Capsule Burst” attack of unpredictable ammunition. Robot mode exhibits surprising strength and endurance in proportion to his tiny size; can launch deadly projectiles from wrist sockets, and uses two Sniper Shot rifles with deadly accuracy. A better-skilled warrior than his size would indicate, and fighting skills are boosted by his extreme hatred for the Autobots; but has below-average intelligence and severely gives away a leverage advantage to much larger opponents.

To cast your vote for the winners in each fight, you can e-mail me at excellence-execution@excite.com, reply right here in this thread, or even let me know in a Chat or IM. In the rare moment that we might talk in person or on the phone, casted votes also count there. As usual, you cannot cast your vote for the same match(es) more than once (yeah, an anti-ballot box-stuffing measure).

Voting for this round will be open until the deadline of Saturday, July 15, at 7pm Pacific Daylight Time. Next week, the results will be posted, along with the opening-round matches for the G1 & G2 International Conference Tag Team Tournament.

I also want to insert a little reminder that the combatants in this Tournament will be fighting with their own hardware, without additional reinforcement. So while the Godmasters et al will be permitted to have their humanoid partners, and the Pretenders can still use their shells, etc.; Soundblaster and Twincast cannot be aided by any cassette partners, Ginrai can use his normal trailer but not the Godbomber trailer, Star Saber will not be allowed to have Victory Leo help him, etc.

1. Deathsaurus

...Are you kidding me? Even Star Saber isn't able to defeat Deathsaurus on his own, so what can a reborn communications expert do? Kill him with the Brady Bunch theme song?
-------------------------------------------
2. Overlord

This was a close one. I really think that Ginrai is powerful, but I don't think he'd defeat Overlord without Godbomber. The con's just too powerful. I mean, two Godmaster partners?
-------------------------------------------
3. Dai Atlas

...He was able to slice Predaking in half in Zone. Soundblaster should be a minor problem for him.
-------------------------------------------
4. Stepper

...He's a sharpshooter. Those bots usually find the most vulnerable points in an opponent's armor and shoot there. Though Leozak has the advantage of having a robotic lion with him.
-------------------------------------------
5. Star Saber

He's strong, has great firepower and that Saber Blade. And he is one of the brightest bulbs among the Autobots. Plus the sword should be able to shred Jhiaxus... at least a little.
-------------------------------------------
6. Metalhawk

Hum... I dunno, maybe it's the fact that he's really maneuverable, able to jump out of a laserblast's way in the nick of time, literally bounce off the walls... plus he's intelligent, has the Titanium Saber (which looks more like a trident, now that I think about it), a finishing attack, the aid of a Pretender shell, he can fly and he's got that limitless endurance. He wasn't able to defeat the three Destron Pretenders in episode 1, that's true, but in a one-on-one combat... he'd pretty much cream almost anyone.
--------------------------------------------
7. Black Zarak

Uh... another 'Are you kidding me' is on it's way... That con is huge. I'd think any normal-sized Autobot would have serious difficulties fighting him, let alone defeat him. There are only three TFs in the world that can defeat him: and they are Fortress Maximus, Primus and Unicron.
--------------------------------------------
8. Rotorstorm

Was just feeling that he'd have the advantage. I mean, Browning is so friggin' tiny. Last I saw him, he was smaller than a human (or about the size of one).

The opening round of the G1 & G2 International Conference Singles Tournament is now over, and these preliminary results were all across the board, bringing in results that were both close and one-sided. So now, let’s find out who advanced into the second round….

Match 1: Twincast (Japan) vs. Deathsaurus (Japan)

“Come on, man; he's frigging Deathy,” wrote OnslaughtSix of Ben Yee’s BWTF Forums. “Fighting ‘Blaster.’ Blaster was cool and all, but he frigging ‘sucks,’ man.” Well, perhaps not under different circumstances, had the random draw given Twincast a different opponent of more comparable size to him. But the luck of the draw was certainly not in favor of the upgraded Autobot/Cybertron Communicator, and Deathsaurus prompty destroyed him in virtually record time. With a 100% shutout victory, Deathsaurus must now look forward to a much more formidable challenge….

WINNER: Deathsaurus

Match 2: Ginrai (Japan) vs. Overlord (Japan)

Some had commented that Ginrai had defeated Overlord before in the Masterforce story, both in the anime and the manga. However, one major factor in those battles was that Super Ginrai, as powerful as he was, was aided by Godbomber. In this match, with Godbomber barred from the Tournament, disallowing a two-on-one, the scales were tipped a little more the other way, although not too far. Safeguard of Beast Wars International wrote, “This was a close one. I really think that Ginrai is powerful, but I don't think he'd defeat Overlord without Godbomber. The con's just too powerful. I mean, two Godmaster partners?” With an added advantage in favor of the Destron not having to deal with Godbomber, Overlord snuck by with 63% of the vote to defeat Ginrai… but now must prepare to face his successor of Destron Leadership in Round 2!

WINNER: Overlord

Match 3: Dai Atlas (Japan) vs. Soundblaster (Japan)

“The upgraded cassettes got their arses handed to ’em,” said BaronFel, triple-citizen of The Underground Hangar, Beast Wars International, and the TF Collectors’ Club Boards. In fact, several felt it was almost a wasteful shame that the upgraded forms of both G1 Communicators had to fight overpowering foes against whom they would stand a chance. Therefore, Soundblaster faces a similar fate to his Cybertron counterpart, though with a little bit of minor success; Dai Atlas snatched up 88% in a solid victory into the next round.

WINNER: Dai Atlas

Match 4: Stepper (Japan) vs. Leozak (Japan)

This was a classic match of ground against air, and sharpshooting against blanket destruction, pitting two great all-around fighters with transforming weapons. This could almost be considered something of a tag team match, with the weapon sidekicks aiding both combatants. However, the air took supremacy as Leozak managed to outshoot Stepper and win with 75%. His next opponent should not be taken lightly, as confident as he may be.

WINNER: Leozak

Match 5: Star Saber (Japan) vs. Jhiaxus (G2)

No doubt about it; this was one match that just about everyone who cast their votes really wanted to see. In a true cross-generational battle against Japanese G1 and Generation 2, the clash between Victory’s legendary swordsman and the Cybertronian Empire Builder would have rocked the arena to its foundations. Unexpectedly, these two warriors were so evenly matched, that neither side was able to keep any sort of advantage for long. Unfortunately for both of them, that deadlock remained right up to the end, as they reached a 50-50 draw. Therefore, both Star Saber and Jhiaxus are both eliminated; this result also removes the only G2 combatant on the roster from further Singles competition, although he may stand a better chance for survival in the Tag Team Tournament.

WINNER: none

Match 6: Metalhawk (Japan) vs. Skyquake (Europe)

With the arguable exception of Generation 2, this was the first of the true intercontinental battles in the Tournament, with the fighters each representing Japan and Europe. It also stood as one of the more action-packed battles in the first round as well, with the Japanese Cybertron Pretender against the European sky-bombing Predator. In this match, Japan would prevail, with Metalhawk defeating Skyquake with a 63% margin. With the lack of an opponent in Round 2, he will advance directly into the Semi-Finals.

WINNER: Metalhawk

Match 7: Thunderclash (Europe) vs. Black Zarak (Japan)

Too big, too powerful, and too dangerous were the factors going in Black Zarak’s favor in another Japan-versus-Europe confrontation. Perhaps another description could be tacked on: too easy. “Anybody else vs. a citybot = major squishification,” submitted Stelartron of both The Underground Hangar and Beast Wars International, and it truly was a major squash of a match. The upgraded form of Scorponok completely shut out the European Turbomaster Leader, leaving the Autobot getting in no offense whatsoever.

WINNER: Black Zarak

Match 8: Rotorstorm (Europe) vs. Browning (Japan)

Some people probably wondered what Browning was doing in this Tournament to begin with. In the Destron’s defense, aside from being a fairly popular toy for Japanese TF collectors, his firepower could give him a chance to pull off an upset, despite his tiny size. Well, it looked like no upset was going to happen this time; Rotorstorm became the only European Transformer to survive the first round, crushing the tiny Destron Gunman with an 88% win. Megaru of The Underground Hangar put it ever so delicately, “Browning got an even shorter stick. HE GO SQUISH NOW.”

WINNER: Rotorstorm

This week kicks off the second round of match-ups for the G1 & G2 International Singles Tournament, and the line-up in this round promises to provide some action-packed fights for this week! The first match is a titanic battle between two massive Destron Leaders from different Japanese G1 series, as Deathsaurus from Victory must take on his predecessor, the double Godmaster Overlord from Masterforce! The next battle is another gulf of generations, pitting Dai Atlas, the powerful Cybertron Supreme Commander from Zone, against Deathsaurus’ deadly Aerial Lieutenant, Leozak!

With one match having ended in a draw, Metalhawk from Masterforce receives a bye in this round due to the lack of an opponent, and will automatically advance into the Semi-Finals. But the last match of this round is an intercontinental confrontation which will determine the Cybertron Pretender’s next opponent; will it be the massive Black Zarak from Masterforce, or the only surviving European competitor in Round 2, Rotorstorm? You decide!

As usual, the rules are simple: the three match-ups are provided, and you, the membership, get to vote for the winner of all three fights. Capsule profiles of each participant are provided in the Round 1 match-ups at the top of this thread, and you pick who'd more realistically win their matches.

And as is the case in this round… it is possible for opponents of the same allegiance to fight each other.

Match 9: Deathsaurus (Japan) vs. Overlord (Japan)

Match 10: Dai Atlas (Japan) vs. Leozak (Japan)

Match 11: no match: Metalhawk advances directly into the Semi-Finals

Match 12: Black Zarak (Japan) vs. Rotorstorm (Europe)

To cast your vote for the winners in each fight, you can e-mail me at excellence-execution@excite.com, reply right here in this thread, or even let me know in a Chat or IM. In the rare moment that we might talk in person or on the phone, casted votes also count there. Voting for this round will be open until the deadline of Saturday, July 29, at 7pm Pacific Daylight Time. Next week, the results will be posted, along with the Round 2 matches for the G1 & G2 International Conference Tag Team Tournament.

To say that Round 2 of the G1&G2 International Singles Tournament was a massacre just doesn’t describe it enough. Normally, the percentage figures of the results would be placed in each individual match description, but this time, it wasn’t necessary. Except for Metalhawk receiving a bye in this round, all the matches ended in 100% shutout victories for the winners! Speaking of the winners, let’s go see who they were (although it’s hardly a surprise)….

Match 9: Deathsaurus (Japan) vs. Overlord (Japan)

It was Victory versus Masterforce in this showdown between Destron Leaders. On those notes and the combatants’ stats alone, this match in reality would have been much closer, and much more violent. But in the format of selecting the final winner, it wasn’t even close, as the TF with his own individual mind was too much against the Transtector, even with two humanoid partners and an internal weapons-producing factory. “It just seems like a normal Cybertronian would have the edge against a human-controlled one,” wrote 138 Scourge of the BWTF Forums, “Even if the term ‘Double Godmaster’ does sound pretty intimidating.”

WINNER: Deathsaurus

Match 10: Dai Atlas (Japan) vs. Leozak (Japan)

Unlike his commanding officer from the Victory series, Leozak was simply no match for the new Cybertron Supreme Commander from Zone. Dai Atlas’ decisive victory prevented Leozak from an opportunity to pull a Starscream against Deathsaurus in the Semi-Finals. But Dai Atlas’ power and win-loss record in canon stories gave him the ultimate edge. “He beats up gestalts,” reasoned Megaru of The Underground Hangar. “Leozak is no problem.” Dai Atlas now advances to the Semi-Finals, against perhaps his most dangerous enemy of the Tournament to date.

WINNER: Dai Atlas

Match 11: Metalhawk (Japan) vs. no opponent

Due to a lack of opponent in Round 2, Metalhawk receives a bye in this round and advances into the Semi-Finals.

WINNER: Metalhawk (via bye)

Match 12: Black Zarak (Japan) vs. Rotorstorm (Europe)

Too massive, too powerful, and too much of a mismatch, as Black Zarak continued his merciless rampage, wiping out the final European contestant in the Tournament. BaronFel, triple citizen of The Underground Hangar, Beast Wars International, and the TF Collectors’ Club Forums, had commented, “Black Z easily takes out Rotorstorm. Though he might not know a fight had actually happened.”

WINNER: Black Zarak

Thank you to all who participated in the second round of the G1 & G2 International Conference Singles Tournament. More Tournament fun is in progress with Round 2 of the G1 & G2 Int’l Tag Team Tournament underway… and be ready for next week, Saturday, August 5, for both the Round-2 results of the Tag Team Tournament, and the opening of the two Semi-Final matches of the G1 & G2 Int’l Singles Tournament. And even if you’ve never played before, you can still join in anytime you wish! 8)

We have come to the Final Four of the G1&G2 International Singles Tournament, where the last survivors who have emerged from this intercontinental contest of warriors has boiled down to an all-Japan affair. In one match, it's the merciless Deathsaurus squaring off against the immensely-powerful Dai Atlas; in the other, it's the Cybertron Pretender Metalhawk against the new form of Scorponok, Black Zarak! The winners of these two matches will move on to face off in the Championship Finals... and you decide whom they will be!

As usual, the rules are simple: the two matches are provided, and you, the membership, get to vote for the winner of both fights. Capsule profiles of each participant are provided in this post, and you pick who'd more realistically win their matches.

In this case, if one Semi-Final match ends in a draw, the winner of the other match will automatically win the Tournament. If the tournament final's vote becomes a tie, a re-vote will be opened; there must be a championship winner. And as has been the case in previous rounds… it is possible for opponents of the same allegiance to fight each other.

Match 13: Deathsaurus (Japan) vs. Dai Atlas (Japan)

Match 14: Metalhawk (Japan) vs. Black Zarak (Japan)

Voting for this round will be open until the deadline of Saturday, August 12, at 7pm Pacific Daylight Time. Next week, the results will be posted, along with the Semi-Final matches for the G1 & G2 International Conference Tag Team Tournament.

About three days remain before the deadline drops for the G1&G2 Int'l Tournament Semi-Finals. If you still haven't cast your votes for these two matches, you still have a fair amount of time left.
