July 2nd is when The last Airbender comes out in threaters. Is any one other then me going to see it?

Lady Venom, you're more then welcome to join this thread, but please a simple yes or no answer will work just fine.

We all know that it won't like the cartoon. But it was they would have idk Jim carrey or some one else who is funny play Sokka. And some hyper 12 or 13 year bald kid play Aang, and for Katara; Kristen Stewart would play her. But then again its going to be an action movie, and its going to be one of two things. Its going to kick major aft or its gonna suck big time. But until then don't judge it till you've seen it.

No, I'm not going to see it.

And...I'm actually sad you'd think Jim Carry, nearly fifty would play a 12 year old Inuit kid. Kristian Stewart isn't Inuit, and the kid playing Aang isn't Asian.

My two cents, and I hope more people would actually think about the white washing going on in that movie.

I think Sokka's actually 16, but Carey is still waaaaay too old to play a kid's role.

Yes, I will be seeing this movie. I may go to the midnight premier or just wait until my birthday a few days later.

I'm going to see it. And I'm frankly going to be in the "I know the story, I know it's a summer film, and I'm going to enjoy the effects as much as just enjoying watching it" mindset. *shrugs* I love the series, and I'm keeping an open mind about the movie. I like movies that make me think from time to time, but I watch movies to get away from reality. So bash me all you like, but I'm going to enjoy watching Last Airbender. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

And as far as the casting goes and whatnot ... *shrugs again* Oh, well. Someone with a lot of money made a decision, and those of us with less money can choose to like it or hate it, but it's still out of our control.

When i said that i was being dramatic sort of, yes i know that Jim carrey is to old to play a kid. But please remember that it can't always go by the cartoon other wise it would be like a two part movie if they went by the cartoon.

Again i was bring dramatic and i know that Jim Carrey is way to old to play a kids role. And again don't judge it until you've seen it, to me it looks like a kick aft movie. But i could be wrong but i won't know until i've seen it.

And Night, they were contemplating already making it a trilogy *hatehatehate* because the first movie only covers about half the first book.

Oh yeah that's right. It was Zuko who was 16. If they make it into a trilogy, I hope it creates enough interest so that someone can remake it from scratch a few years after the third film. That's what they're doing with Spider-man and X-Men.

They're remaking Spiderman and X-Men? If they are I never heard about it, but am very intrigued

I've heard about the Spiderman reboot but have not heard about the Xmen one. I think Marvel has realised how much strength there is in unifying its movie universe (i.e. cameos in Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, etc.) so that we get a feel that they are all linked in the... erm... "universal" sense. I hope they reboot the Fantastic Four, as I really disliked the way the treated Doom in those movies. I never really found him all that scary. "Doom is lord of Latveria! Doom feels no love, or jealousy over a mere woman!" (Thats the sort of attitude he should have, because thats the sort of character he is, I don't agree on the "mere woman" sentiment, but thats not a sexist remark, Doom really does see himself as superior to everyone else) and there is so much more to his character that we need to see. Anyhoo, side rant aside and getting back to the main point of thread

It does look interesting. I have not seen the anime (I've actually been pretty far out of the anime loop for a while) but I'll watch it if I get around to it. I am not a fan of M. Night but the Sixth Sense was great so maybe this is his returning to greatness moment. We'll see

If you have time, google "X-Men: First Class". New cast, introduction story, and as a Cyclops fan I can't wait to see how he becomes leader.

Oh, and I saw a Last Airbender Prequel comic at Barnes & Noble featuring Zuko and Iroh. I couldn't finish reading because I just couldn't adjust to the extreme difference between the new and original looks. Hopefully, I'll get over this by July...

Alas no, this is not a movie I'll be watching this summer. I honestly have no clue what the series was about so I have no incentive seeing the movie one way or another.

Got too little time on my plate regardless. I'm working fulltime and planning a wedding, so I barely even get to turn on my computer. I might be online for half an hour on average a day, if even that.

It's at Borders too. Go to Borders! We're better than those stuffy, stuck-up people at B&N!!! LOL, sorry, couldn't help myself. I'm a Borders "Hippie Dippie" as I've heard a former B&N bookseller say to me while I was helping her find a book. Yay for books.

I read the prequel graphic novel a couple days after it came out, and while yes, it's done in the movieverse character style, it's an interesting read. Just ignore the style. If they had done the original AtLA designs, it would honestly have come off as too kiddish, you know? They're targeting a different audience with this

And Silver, just because I'm a geek about the show ... it's not really anime. It's an American-designed cartoon animated by a Korean animation company, and the original language is English. Fantastically so, too! You can stream the episodes at Hulu.

Because everyone likes to call it anime, expecially anime fans trying to claim a good American cartoon as their own. It's nice to see that some people can easily recognize what is anime and what isn't anime.
