I totally agree with you on that, Dinobot has earned his right to be in the TF Hall of Fame, but how can one vote for him?

lol Oops. Sorry, I forgot to say where to vote. The information about it is here: http://www.hasbro.com/transformers/en_U ... f-Fame.cfm

The voting starts on Monday the 10th but I don't know for how long 'cause Hasbro didn't say.

-_-; They didn't say a lot of things, apparently. I knew about the May 10th voting but it seems they failed to mention that there was going to be a pre-voting between some of the major TF fan sites to determine the bots selected for the 5 nominees to choose from for the final 2010 inagural spot.

I just happened to visit the allspark.com forums and found this out. Unfortunately, I missed the fan site voting deadline. It seemed like Dinobot got enough votes from the fans to definately get nominated but I was worried since he didn't get mentioned. But he made the final spot so I'm glad.

Now it's the matter of which of the 5 nominees gets in the hall of fame this year. And, with the other choices being veterans in the TF fandom, it's probably going to be a long shot getting DB in. In any case, I'm still voting him in. Viva BW!

Here's the nominees:

1st. Soundwave
2nd. Grimlock
3rd. Jazz
4th. Shockwave
5th. Dinobot

Sorry, I'll have to vote for Shockwave or Grimlock, I just see them as more influential in the long run of Transformers

True, but i'd like to see Shockwave take on six Autobots and make it out not only alive, but completely unscathed.

he beat all the Earth-bound Autobots and hung their carcasses up to the ceiling in an early Marvel Comic, trashed Megatron in a leadership batle, and took command for a long time, and then made Megatron go insane and almost kill himself

it's spread over 80 issues of Marvel US's comic line, and a few Marvel UK comics (in the UK he kills Cyclonus and Scourge as well)

anyway:

he blasts the autobots end of issue 4 (The Last Stand)
he takes command of Decepticons and hangs up autobots in issue 5 (The New Order)
Beats Megatron in issue 6 (The Worse of two evils) (also causes events to create Circuit Breaker)
Drive's megatron insane to near suicide issue 25 (Gone but not forgotten)

He does alot more stuff as well, but those are the one's I mentioned before

I read the summary to those and all i can say is damn. Shockwave is the one Decepticon you do not want to tick off, along with Soundwave and maybe others.

This is a really tough decision. There are some pretty slagging good reasons to vote for all of them, and I'm sure everyone can expand on my thoughts a little more coherently....

1st. Soundwave - Probably the most well-known face of the G1 Decepticons, imho even above Megatron. He was featured over Megs in a Robot Chicken sketch. 'Nuff said.
2nd. Grimlock - If WoW thinks he's epic enough to spoof his trademark line via a random boss, you know he's contributed to the fame of the franchise. Technically, he's even popped up in BW and kicked some serious tail there. Character-wise, he's dynamic and has contributed to some interesting points in the story line in several generations.
3rd. Jazz - Is Jazz. 'Nuff said.
4th. Shockwave - Apparently the most powerful Decepticon to have ever lived, despite many people maybe not knowing it. His epic power has already been stated. As a face of the franchise though, he's never stood out in my mind all that much. Maybe I just didn't know where to turn my head.
5th. Dinobot - Story-wise, every human, Autobot, and Maximal owes their lives to him for his sacrifice. His death scene is said to rival Prime's. Plus, I think the fact that he is the only non-G1 'bot on the short list says something about his impact on the community. Sure, he's the underdog of this competition, but we already know how such long-shot battles turn out for him.

It's a hard choice. I don't mind saying it'll bug me right up until voting closes and the winner is announced.

Sorry, but I can't in good conscience vote for Dinobot when Soundwave & Shockwave are on the list. I'll have to decide between those two.

I agree with all of the Top 5 nominations, however from a character perspective, Dinobot is still #1 in my books. The whole struggle between Maximal and Predacon ideologies not to mention that he was the first character in an animated series of Transformers that really gave the idea that the Predacons weren't necessarily evil and thus brought the whole war into the grey area. Who is right and wrong were no longer simple because of his stance. Athough he joined the Maximals, he still maintained his Predacon honour. As they said, his actions saved humanity, earth and even the universe itself. AND HE HAS A COOL SPINNY SWORD!! :D
It's ok sir. I'll be fine...

Just listen to your commander, bonebrain!

If I wasn't such a big Dinobot fan (or if DB didn't make it on the list) I'd probably vote for Shockwave. I can't say I knew much about him but after reading the information about him, he's got some wicked awesomeness going on. And he gots one eye! (and for some reason, makes me want to do a Gundam crossover)

Definately going to have to find the comic for him.

Hmmm... I wonder if Shockwave and DB are related in some way. I've always wondered why he, a Predacon, would rename himself Dinobot but maybe it was out of spite due to some family conflict.

Dinobot: *growls* "I cannot believe we are even related."
Shockwave: "Don't sass me, boy!"

LOL You know, looking at the list, it's kinda weird we've got 2 "waves", 2 "dinobots", and a Jazz. If I was someone who didn't know a thing about Transformers, I'd probably vote Jazz just because of the confusion with the other four.
