HAs anyone outside the UK heard about the Icelandic volcano? I sure have....because my flight back to the UK has been cancelled! I can't get a rebooking until Wednesday at the earliest...heehee XD
BUT. At the same time I have to get back because I have my practical assessment coming up. Nerk! I've had to email my group memebers and tell them. The BA phones are busy and have been since I started. Technically I'm not even supposed to be away during "READING WEEK"...but thankfully I'm not the only one, haha!
Anyone else having problems with travel? Or any opinions on this ash cloud business? One one hand I'm saying "oh dear", but on the other its "WOOHOO longer to stay in Kuwait!"

Aww, I feel your pain.. Yes, unfortunately I know all too well about the active volcano on Iceland (along with its larger sister volcano that often wakes up with or right after this first one). It is putting our wedding plans at slight risk.
You see.. I grew up in Norway so my mother wanted us to have the church wedding there. Church and tickets have been booked, along with the honeymoon, and the invitations have been sent out to Canada, Poland, New York, and Norway.. Yet Norway is being hit harder than most by the volcanic ashes. Oh, did I mention I booked our tickets with Iceland Air (landing on iceland before proceeding to Norway) a mere 2 days before the volcano woke up? I'm mildly concerned.. I'm just hoping that it calms down well before the wedding (mid August).
Oh yes, Jagna, the Icelandic volcano is all over the news in the U.S. People who have been living in the airports are going go to nuts soon if they can't get home to the UK. I feel really bad for them.
Am I the only one concerned about all the earthquakes and volcanoes? I have never seen so many fatal quakes happen around the world in such a short time span. But I have noticed that most of them, except for Haiti, have happened around the "ring of fire." Scary stuff out there.
Am I the only one concerned about all the earthquakes and volcanoes?
Well.. there was plenty of earthquakes and volcanic activity happening earlier on too, we just didn't hear too much about it. Nowadays we are always getting news feeds from all over the world, so that might give the impression that there's a lot more stuff going on than there used to be.
