Okay,Review Time
Characters
Harvey Dent(Played By Aaron Eckhart)
Anyone who've seen this movie knows who he is.
Role:A Counciller/lawyer in Gotham City, who also plans to be in office by three years.
Description:When looking at Dent,he represents justice and peace without wearing a mask, and bravely shows his face to Gotham, unafraid of what will come to him;whether it be threats from normal mafia men,or nstable physcopaths like the Joker. He finds probaility,or 'luck' as his way of life, using 50/50 to any situation, whether it be small(Such as asking his friend and co-worker to go on a date with him)or large(Such as killing one of Joker's hostages)His relationships with Bruce Wayne is quite strained,as he dislikes him being around his love interest,Rachel. His relationship with Rachel is like a normal boyfriend/girlfirend thing, but it's not much of a focus in this film, but in one scene, the dialouge between the two proves that they love each other greatly, and it will be proven again when Dent's character changes later in the film.
Purpose:He becomes an ally to Batman, even though they met breifly twice in the film.He investigates the Joker and his wherabouts, and the two meet at last around the middle. As for Batman/Bruce Wayne,he tells himself and other chracters that he respeacts Dent for his courage and ideals, and that he can be like Batman without the mask.
Development:Harvey is used mainly as character development for Batman and Rachel.Batman learns about what defines a hero or a villian, and basically there is no specific answer,as Batman learns later in the film.As for Rachel, she becomes more than a minor character to a supporting one,as she decides on what life she must lead, and through that, she helps develop Bruce Wayne's character. However,Dent himself provides self-development,as he too respects Batman for his courage, but he fears him a little, like most citzens in Gotham, and,he defends him majorly some time in the film.He isn't afraid to fight or even kill a man,as he once fought with a criminal in court and threatens to kill one of Joker's hostages. He will also try anything he can to help Batman or protect Rachel...if he had the chance,he could have taken the Joker out himself.
Alfred Pennyworth(Played by Michael Caine)
Although Alfred is a minor character in this film,he provides some brief development for Bruce Wayne,as he goes through the journey of what justice, heroism, and peace really means. He still helps Batman by being his eyes and ears when finding the Joker.Later in the film,he protects Bruce from the future pain he will go through about Rachel, never admitting what she said to Alfred. We get more of his backstory when he once encountered a thief when he was young, and had to make an unethical choice to stop that thief, which does reflect on what Batman could have done in the end of the film.
Rachel Dawes(Played by Maggie Gyllenhaal)
From minor to supporting chracter, this lawyer provides development to Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent,as a subtle love triangle is played in the film.Rachel has moved on with Bruce after fearing her own life and Bruce's when being Batman, thus, she has become the fiance of Dent. Her relationship with Dent is normal;her relationship with Bruce is normal. She did play Damsel in Distress twice with the Joker, and the interaction with the two is suspensful yet dramatic,as he immediately threatens to kill her...so I could add that she also brings development to Joker's character and backstory in less than three minutes. She self develops herself as her encounters with the two men after her and the villian holding her hostage,as she literally decides who she wants to stay with, and who she would wait for.Throughout the film she helps Dent's character turn around mentally, emotionally, and physically, but not without admitting she did love him.
Lt.James Gordon(Played by Gary Oldman)
Description:Like in Begins,he is the one to make sure Gotham City is free from crime, and he creates a tension between Dent,Batman, and the Joker, becoming a wild chase for all four of them, and many entanglements and interactions between them, reaching to new heights in development.Hi freindship towards Batman is respect for one another,as they become automatic allies in tracking down the Joker in seperate fields. His partnership with Dent however is more stronger than Batman's,as the two knew each other longer and are on the same place when interacting with hostages, accomplices, criminals, and the Joker himself. There are some moments with his family,as he shows a compassionate side and hopes for their safety, even willing to save them in any exteme way possible.
Development:He develops Batman's character by the end of the film as both realize the answer to defining the villian and the hero, and both he and Batman make a choice that they both regret doing, straining their respect they once had as bringers of justice. His friendship is strained with Dent as well, bringing a push to the turn of Dent's character that affect him in the film.Gordon develops himself as he is willing to tell the truth to both Dent and the Joker, but he keeps his sense of justice and hope for peace, even sacrificing some part of himself, with or without Batman's help.
Lucius Fox(Played by Morgan Freeman)
More focus is brung to him in this film as he provides more military items for Batman and Bruce Wayne. As being the right-hand man of Wayne Enterprises and the Caped Crusader,he helps him in investigating the Joker's allies, and whereabouts, being Natman's eyes and ears in the end of the film(While Alfred did that in the beginning). He prevents himself from ever getting caught;one by a crime lord, and one from a co-worker.In the end of it all,Fox brings development in himself as he steps aside when helping Batman in some moments.
Det.Ramirez(Played by Monique Curnen)
Though she was a minor character, she did have some moments where she both ended up helping Gordon...but ends up being a hostsge for a villian, which provided a plot advancement and future development in the end of the film(After the Joker)
The Scarecrow(Played by Cillian Murphy)
Demoted to minor villian, that provided uselessness.Enough said.
Resse(Played by Joshua Harto)
Minor but he proved that Lucius Fox isn't a man to be dealt against. He could have the ability to turn the plot around and he has, being an advantage to the Joker in the film.He shows some form of greed and will do something to prove that something is odd at Wayne Enterprises, and, becomes vital for the Joker,as he uses him to lure Batman.

I decided to add Batman and Joker chracter analysis later, now on to Part II of the Review:
Storyline
I can't really give out the plot right away but when watching this Movie you can get a sense of what is going on.In terms of Plot Development,it is never rushed or slowed out as in Batman Begins, instead you have a right adjustment to all stories in this film.I do warn you though, there are at least three plots that are focused on one character:Batman, the Joker, and Harvey Dent. All three do get interconnected, though not at the end,but in the middle, and it makes me wonder how it would end,and it ends off with an unpredictible cliffhanger...if you can call it one.
Well,it is late now,so I'll explain the writing tomorrow.

Yeah I saw that movie on the 18th, it was awesome. I've even made myself apart of it.
(read signature below)
I am now convinced that if Heath Ledger hadn't died, he could've made one kick arse Rampage. (look me in the text (since you can't see my eyes) and tell me that you can't see Rampage saying 'Why so Serious?' to DC)
I really liked how the Joker and Two-Face were portrayed in this movie, much better than the older movies. I seriously hope that they keep improving characters if they continue in this franchise.
And the funny thing is, the writers, producers and directers of Batman Begins didn't think it would be a success.

Heath Ledger being Rampage...well I always assumed the VA of Lockdown from Animated would make a fine Rampage...but can I see anyone else being better than the sinister origial Rampage VA than Campbell Lane?
I admit,Heath did great Voice Acting in his time, and him playing the Joker was phenomenal.

I think I may have liked The Dark Knight more than the Transformers movie.
I know, crazy, right?
Heath Ledger made me hate to love the Joker all over again, who is the number one villain of movies right now and rightly so. I hope his performance in TDK will be recognized in some way during the Oscars next year (if he just happens to not win an Oscar). It's astonishing, comical and sinister.
I've seen the movie twice this weekend and will probably see it again next weekend. I wonder how many Jokers and Batmans will be wandering the sidewalks this Halloween. "It's all part of the plan."
I still love Jack Nicholson's Joker back in the first Batman movie because he's so wild (and it's Jack), but Ledger's Joker is so much darker and more like the character's supposed to be portrayed. It's hard to remember that it's Ledger because it doesn't sound like him (I loved his Joker voice) and doesn't look like him with all that make up. Definitely a memorable role that no one will forget.

Funny about that pencil scene was that eerybody gasped while some laughed at the idea.To me that scene broke the barriers that all incarnations of the Joker(Excluding the Comics)was trying to get out of when trying to act as the psychotic killer criminal.

I don't know if I'm even going to go see it. Most of you who know me well will who have seen the movie know that I'm not big on a lot of what is in it (yes, I've read reviews, spoiled parts of it for myself). If anything, I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD, and watch it during the day.
Yeah. I'm like that.
BUT! Wonko, keep up the reviewing! You write them well!

I didn't think Scarecrow's quick involvement was useless or meaningless to the film. After all, since he got away in the first film, I thought it was a nice touch that the villain hadn't been forgotten and was finally captured in TDK. It was a great introduction for Batman, as well as recognizing the improvements that Bruce needed for his suit. And despite the short-lived cameo, it was great that they kept Cillian for the role. *shrug*The Scarecrow(Played by Cillian Murphy)
Demoted to minor villian, that provided uselessness.Enough said.
I was one of those who laughed.Funny about that pencil scene was that eerybody gasped while some laughed at the idea.

Rumors for the third movie were spreading across my local news this morning. Apparently the two actors that are being considered for the next villains are Johnny Depp as the "Riddler" and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the "Penguin." I think that's a rather interesting cast for the dark and violent films, if it's accurate. However, I doubt the third installment will amount to the record-breaking Dark Knight film. I don't know if it can be any better than what they accomplished with the Joker and Two-Face but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
