Actually, with the latest episode, "Thrill of the Hunt" (SO AWESOME) I daresay that Animated IS reaching BW-like levels of quality if this keeps up.

I have to agree Beastbot, Thrill of the Hunt was a quality episode. I hope this becomes more and more the norm for them.

Having just seen Thrill of the Hunt for myself, I have to say the writing is absolutely chock full of win.

If I had to equate it in terms of quality with reference to Beast Wars, it'd rate at about Deep Metal quality in terms of characterisation. Of course, this is rather subjective.

Definitely above and beyond your average episode, but certainly not at the same level that Code of Hero reached. I'd say it's in between somewhere.

yes, i must say, these eps are really enjoyable. usually i see a show and it looks naff, it usually is. but there are several aspects of Animated I really enjoy! Prowl for one....is AWESOME. Bumblebee is stil cute! Even optimus and his weird chin thing has grown on me. at first his character seemed a bit twee to me, but David Kaye did a good job ^^

back to BM (as the topic IS just that)

did anyone else find it odd that Silverbolt (stuck-up moody....) was only a bird, and not a bird-dog? i mean, Noble was a wolf, but it cant have much to do with that. sure, i tought Megatron might have somehow extracted that part of SB, but to what purpose????

Not really, even though we associate the bird-dog form with Silverbolt. When BA tacked the DNA Scanner/Spark Extractor on Jetstorm the bird was just the first thing it picked up. Shame though, would've been interesting for him to have been a T-Rex...that was one of the fossils shown.

Here's the episode in question...poor Jetstorm.

Don't remind me! That was the one and only time I felt bad for Jetstorm (I liked Thrust. his voice is hawt) BA got desperate. I guess she wanted some... you know .......... lol maybe she was horney? *shot*
Is it just me or did Jetstorm always sound like he was horny?

Eh, never really thought of it like that before... :?

Though it WOULD fit, Jetstorm being the opposite of our Pure, Strong, Fast and Noble Silverbolt...

I guess it was just me but when he was like "Oooh, spider-babe, at twelve o-clock." he kinda sounded like it. Then again somebody else pointed that out to me and I was like. "OMW! He does!"

Now that you mention it, he always sounds like that.

Oh great! A horny transformer! what will they think of next. (probably should have ask that!)

In my opinion, beast machines was just too darker for me but it did have some funny moments!

I just watched Beast Machines last month.

I enjoyed it in a sort of Orwellian nightmare that Optimus Primal had.

I cant put it in my TF history. Too wonky for me.

I agree, I can't in good conscience consider beast machines part of TF mythos, its just too convoluted and full of factors that conflict with past series (such as cybertron having an organic core and fossils of animals only found on earth). I don't mind dark moments, but not when it makes the rest of the series more weird and depressing than anything else. Beast Wars had a good mix of intense and humorous moments and the action was killer, while in beast machines the action wasn't nearly as good.
