The episode starts off with a close-up to Rhinox's computer screen as he tried to get a pattern out of the Golden Disk and the positions of the alien artifacts that they've found in relation to the Axalon.  He finds that there seems to be a triangle around the base.  Rhinox tells Dinobot that they can use such information to find more alien devices.  Dinobot voices that they should rather be developing battle strategies.  Rhinox points out that giving back the Golden disk to Megatron didn't help.  Dinobot explains to him that he had his reasons as he told Optimus.  Just then, another alien signature is detected in Grid Ziron.  It turns out Tigatron and Airazor were heading toward that grid.  They try to contact them and earn them to steer clear of the alien device but all the comm. channels have been blocked.  Rhinox stats that Megatron must've built another jamming station.  "Rattrap and I will destroy that station," Dinobot says and then leaves.

Meanwhile, Tarantulas has also picked up on the alien signature.  He leaves to go and investigate.  Back at the Predacon base, Blackarachnia complains (unknowingly in the presence of Megatron) how monitor duty is such a drag and being loyal to Megatron 'sure is boring'.  Then she cries out that Tarantulas has finally surfaced.  Megatron comes up behind her along with Inferno and demands where.  He was in Grid Baxon and moving fast.  Megatron tries to contact Tarantulas but the spider ignores him.  Megatron orders Blackarachnia to keep watch over him.

Optimus and Cheetor are both on the lookout for Tigatron and Airazor.  Optimus asks Cheetor is he's found anything.  He hasn't, so Optimus realizes that Dinobot and Rattrap still haven't taken out the jamming station.

Airazor and Tigatron have just come across some floating flowers, the first sign of plant life since the alien attack.  They follow the flowers into a rich, green canyon.  Both find the plant that is dispersing the flowers and marvel over it.  Suddenly, vines gram their ankles and then their entire bodies as they scream in fear and pain.  Tigatron yells to Airazor that no matter what happens, his spark will find hers.  she says the same, and then a great beam comes from outer space and beams them up.  Cheetor arrives at that moment and cries out in frustration as his two friends are sent into space.  When all is quiet he bows his head in sadness and mutters that he could've warned them.  Tarantulas pops up from behind a rock and says: "Well you didn't!" and shoots Cheetor unconscious.

"So much for the Maximal," Blackarachnia comments back at the Pred base.  Megatron now knows what Tarantulas was after.  Inferno informs him that their jamming is under attack and asks whether he should help Quickstrike and Waspinator fend of the attack.  Megatron says no, because since most of the Maximals are in the field and considering the circumstances, it was the best time to retrieve the Golden disk.

Optimus arrives in the canyon and wakes up0 Cheetor.  He asks the young Maximal what happened and Cheetor tells him.  Rattrap calls Optimus via comm. link and tells him that he and Dinobot have taken out the jamming station and that they're free to warn Tigatron and Airazor.  Optimus sadly informs him that it's too late.

Meanwhile, Rhinox is examining the alien beam/signal that sent Tigatron and Airazor into space by means of his computer. He asks Optimus over the com.. link whether he saw the signal.  Optimus says no but goes on to tell him what happened to them.  Rhinox gets back to work examining the beam when there is an interruption.  Megatron is outside, 'merely wanting to talk'.  Rhinox tells him to go ahead, it's a free planet, but he's busy!"  He curtly cuts off from Megatron who growls that he will regret his impertinence.  In the meantime Inferno and Blackarachnia have infiltrated the Axalon.  They take out the base's power and Inferno blasts a confused Rhinox..  Blackarachnia attempts to take the disks but Rhinox fights off Inferno and threatens to shoot her if she even tries.  He doesn't realize until it's too late that Megatron has snuck up behind him.  Megatron smashes off Rhinox's arm and tosses him into the corner.  He revives Inferno and the threesome leave with the disk.  Rhinox mutters 'oh no' before passing out.  

Optimus returns to base and repairs Rhinox's arm.  Rhinox complains of annoyed he is that he let Megatron sucker him like that.  Cheetor tells him not to worry.

Tarantulas makes an appearance at the Predacon base.  They are all very hostile towards him especially Megatron who, after Tarantulas declares he is no longer part of his command, informs him that he will tear him to pieces.  Tarantulas retorts that he'd be taking out his only chance at resisting the alien invasion.  He has Megaton's attention.  He tells him he has plans to resist the aliens.  Megatron realizes his worth and the two of them and the Predacons head out to the alien device.

The Maximals are deciding on whether they should attack the Predacons or leave them in case they need their help to fight off the aliens.  Optimus agrees with Dinobot that they can't fight both the Predacons and the aliens ands that the last truce was a joke.  The must stop Megatron now.  It turns out that a spatial anomaly has been detected and it looks like he has no choice now but to fight both.  The Maximals leave.

Tarantulas and Megatron and the Predacons are busy setting u beacons around the alien site.  Megatron asks why Tarantulas is aiding him now, if he is no longer on his side.  Tarantulas mutters that he has his reasons.  Blackarachnia states that he hates the aliens and want to destroy them.  Tarantulas asks angrily how she knows that and she reminds them that they shared minds at one sage and he'd be surprised what she knows about him.  The Maximals arrive.  Megatron demands that they leave; he'll deal with the aliens.  Optimus tells him to dream on.  They prepare for battle.  The alien plant suddenly begins to grow into a dome-like structure.  It powers up and sends out a massive energy charge that attacks both Maximal and Predacon alike!
