Drain of Lost Past - Act 2

Part 1

~ Other Side of Reality ~

Disclaimer: The second part of the third story in a series.

Felina (Fiona) was created by MariaSunderland and Gemini was created by myself, Kidcat. We’ve worked and developed these characters a lot over the years so please no stealing or copying ;)  Also, Beast Wars and all of its characters belong to Hasbro.

It’s also to be noted that these fanfics take place in the second season of Beats Wars. I wouldn’t be able to tell you exactly after which episode though, since it doesn’t really follow the second season evens per say (for example, Terrorsaur and Scorpinock are still alive) The stories don’t follow the Beast Wars seasons, we just gave our own spin on how things could have been (Not that we didn’t like where the seasons went ;) )

These stories are also rated PG13… Mostly due to language and violence, so you have been warned!

That being said, enjoy ^_^

Felina was laying on her bed in beast mode, looking through the window. The drops of the rain, which looked like tiny crystals whenever there was a flash of lightning, still crashed roughly on the glass window. The corpse of the kitten had been taken care of, and not even a parcel of a stain remained on the floor. Her frame swelled as she drew in air and let out a long and painful sigh.

(Just once, just ONCE, let me live my fucking life like I wish it and let me enjoy it the way I want to.)

Another flash of light struck the room, quickly followed by the sound of heavy thunder. When the door to her quarters opened, she did not pay much attention, her thoughts too scrambled to think straight or notice her surroundings.

"Now what do I do with this mess..." she sighed in half a whisper, "more trouble then it really is worth."

She jumped on her cat paws, claws out and tearing at the sheet while the cat hair stood on end when Rattrap went from rat mode to robot mode and emerged out of nowhere. She dropped the attack position as soon as it had happened and sat down again, shaking her small head quickly while her tail wavered left and right with annoyance.

"What the hell are you doin' here?", she snapped, "How hard is it to knock and ask to come in?"

"Lock the door", he ordered.

Felina stood surprised by the agitated expression on her partner. That was definitely something new to her; probably to anyone who would happen to see him like this also. She sniffed and lowered herself back on the bed.

"Yeah, like that'll happen."

"I said, lock the door", he repeated more desperately.

"No. Better yet, you're gettin' out before I throw you out myself, Flat Nose."

"Aw for bootin' up cold! Do I have to go on mah knees and roll ovah to make y'listen t'me?!"

A cornered smile came to her, "It's to be considered..."

Rattrap blinked, ".... well... I'm not gonna do it."

"Then I'm not locking the door and you're leaving. Out, shoo, away with you", she waved her paw for him to get out of her quarters.

"Man!" he hissed, "Come on, Felina, please!"

Felina smiled and nodded, "Well, there we go. It wasn't so hard to say the magic word, now was it? And you get a bonus for saying my name right", a long yawn escaped the cat and finally she spoke, "Computer, lock the door."

[Acknowledged]

The sound of mechanics was heard next to prove the door could not be opened anymore. She let out another long yawn and laid her head between her front paws, the blue eyes looking up at Rattrap.

“This had better be worth it, Fast Food. I've had a rough day, as you may well know by now, and I'm tired."

"Can I... sit down?" he asked, pointing at a corner of the bed.

"No."

Rattrap rolled his eyes, "Please, Felina?"

She shrugged, "Whatever. Just remember, it ain't a toilet seat", she mocked him.

He growled, shook his head, and sat down. At first, he kept on staring at the door, which made him even more nervous. What if they came knocking on the door? They wouldn’t do anything in front of Felina, right? Now that he thought about it, he was not so sure anymore if it was a good idea to be in here after what had happened throughout the day with the three newbies.

"Spit it out already", Felina told him impatiently.

"Um... well, first", he began with an embarrassed voice. Apparently, mister Ratty was not the kind to talk like this, and it sure wasn’t making the situation any easier, "Well, I'm sorry about 'dat Sigma.Corp thing. I remembah my encounters with 'em and‑‑"

"Why are y'here?", she cut sharply. She was sitting up again and glaring at him, clearly showing she did not want to hear or even read anymore stories about Sigma Corp. for a long, long time.

"Um ... I... Um...", he rang his hands together, the words unable to come out of his mouth.

Felina dropped back on the bed, her paws hanging on the edge and her head resting on the mattress.

"Wait! Don't tell me. You're desperately in love with me and you don't know how to say it..."

"WHAT?!"

"I'm kiddin', cheese brain!" she rolled her eyes and turned her head away, "Y'got five seconds to start or I'll transform and make y'regret you even thought about comin' in my quarters. 1. 2. 3. 4 -"

He took a deep breath. "I... know who attacked the Boss Monkey and y'kitten."

Felina's head turned back to look at him, "Oh? And how do you know about the cat? You weren't even here when it happened."

"I found Alana and GoldenFire communicating with Megatron. 'Dey talked 'bout Optimus an' y'cat. 'Dey also said 'dey wanted ta get rid of Cheetor and Gemini. 'Dey're plannin' on takin' em out to the Preds and --"

"Maximize!" Felina now stood full height by the side of the bed and had slammed Rattrap down on it with her hands over his throat, "What is it that you Maximals don't get about stayin' out of my business?!", she hissed at him.

"I heard 'em say it", he choked, "Y'hard headed freak! What's wrong with ya?!"

"YOU're what's wrong! YOU ARE!" she cried and tightened her grasp on his neck, "You think you can just come in here and say these things to me!? I'm gonna KILL you! JUST LIKE THE ROBOT HUNTRESS I'M SUPPOSED TO BE!"

She never expected his knee to rise so quickly and slam into her stomach, causing her to gasp painfully for air and release her grip on him. He took the opportunity to roll her over with his strength, sitting on her legs and pinning her arms on each side of her head. Coughing heavily, struggling for a while, but it was nothing compared to her real strength. She had not lied earlier, when she had informed him of how tired she was. The rat was lucky. Not only that, but it also seemed like, in the end, she might not have been looking for a fight.

"I'm tellin' ya 'dat I saw 'dem, for bootin' up cold! Stop foolin' y'self!"

Finally, drawing some air back into her lungs, she tried to struggle again, "I'm... n... not foolin' myself..."

"What about Daddy, huh? What about him?! How come y'think him t'be so innocent allovah sudden?! Huh?"

"Stop it... stop it, damn you..." she breathed.

"Get a slaggin' clue!" Rattrap urged on, "Y'mother's dead! Rhinox saw her die by GoldenFire's hands! 'Dere ain’t no way she could be THE Alana! Reality check! Hello!"

"I KNOW", she cried and stopped her struggles, "Just stop... please, Astroplane, just stop... I don't want to hear it... Not now..."

It seemed like tears were about to flow, but it did not happen. She looked away, her expression fading to a reality she did not want to be part of. Rattrap took a deep breath, his hands releasing some pressure off Felina's wrists.

"...Alley Cat.... I ain't doin' 'dis to... we ain't...." He was unable to say more. The door suddenly opened, revealing a tall, black, blue, gold and silver robot: GoldenFire.

"I thought the door was locked", Rattrap whispered to Felina.

"So did I", she whispered back, the mood gone.

"Um... I hope I'm not interrupting anything", GoldenFire said.

Rattrap then realized he was still sitting onto of his partner on the bed, holding her arms tightly by the wrists to immobilize her. Blushing mildly, he gulped, laughing nervously,

"No! No! Wait! 'Dat's not what it looks like"

GoldenFire crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow, "Well then, I have yet to know what it's supposed to look like."

"Rattrap?", Felina said gently.

"What?"

"Get OFF me!"

That he did, freeing the female from his grip faster then the speed of light. She went back to beast mode right away and ran outside her quarters not even looking back, leaving her father and her partner alone. The next thing GoldenFire did was press the button to close the door, shutting both robots off from the rest of the base, before leaning back against it.

"Well, you seem to be awfully close to my daughter", he said as he smiled to the smaller robot.

"Ah tol' ya it ain't what it looks like. We were just talkin'... "

‘Oh Primus, don't let him know I spyed, don't let him know....’

"You have an amusing way to hold a conversation on this ship, don't you."

‘He knows! He knows, slag oh SLAG he knows I did it!’

"Yeah, well, I... was just ticklin'... her... yeah! 'Dat's it! I was just ticklin' her!"

GoldenFire gave a quick chuckle, nodding but also showing he was not at all impressed by Rattrap's childish answer, "You are a terrible liar."

"Unfortunately. Look Goldy, I don't have time ta play right now, I... ah got things ta do."

But even when Rattrap moved for the door, GoldenFire's tall figure would not move out of the way, his grin widened in fact.

"You are NOT going anywhere, rat. It's my turn to have a chat with you. I don't take lightly to little vermin who listen in on others conversations."

Rattrap narrowed his eyes and stepped away from GoldenFire. That was it... There was no way out and the rat was well aware of it. Quickly, he reached for his gun but it was blasted out of his hand before his finger even touched the trigger. GoldenFire left Rattrap no time to defend himself and rammed into him with full force, slamming him against a small table in Felina's room. Knocking it over, the side of it struck him upside the head and caused him to lose his senses momentarily. Before he could respond to this threat however, he felt as if his circuits were burning from the inside. His body twitched as a strong energon discharge was sent through him; next there was nothing but darkness.

GoldenFire sneered and put the small device he had used on Rattrap away. The body lay unconscious and offline. He was not going to wake up for a while, at least not until he was taken to Megatron's base. Those transmetal bodies were definitely a wonder. GoldenFire could have finished him off, but he had a feeling Sigma Corp. may have enjoyed having more then one transmetal subject to experiment on.

He opened his com-link, slapping at the left of his chest, "Alana? You there?"

"(crissshhh)...Yes. Well?"

"The rat's out. I don't know if I caught him in time though. Well it matters not. I guess we'll know soon enough. In the meantime, we might still have time to gather more information on what happened since the Axalon crashed. Think you can handle Gemini while I take on the kid?"

Alana laughed, "Oh please, it's hardly a problem. What about Felina? Where did she go? Maybe I could talk to her and see if we aren't too late."

"Fine, do what you want. I'm bringing to rat to the fliers. Careful not to get caught."

The woman sighed heavily, "Yes, of course."

"GoldenFire, out."

========================================

SilverBolt came out of the CR Chamber, moving his hand over his head and groaning as if waking from a bad dream. Optimus would take another while to recover, thus remained behind when the door closed. However, Optimus' core consciousness had been activated in the process and a hologram of his head now floated above the command table in the middle of the room.

"How are you feeling?", Rhinox asked the fuzor who had taken a seat next to him.

"Well, a Predacon fleet could have rolled me over three or four times I wouldn't feel any different...."

"I guess it's somewhat of a good sign", Rhinox sighed, "We're under a heavy situation right now, SilverBolt. We'll need as much help as we possibly can."

Silverbolt nodded, "But of course, how may I be of service?"

"Well, I'll let you in on what happened while you and Optimus were in the CR Chamber. New options are always welcomed I guess."

Silverbolt's ears perked up, "I'm listening."
